Foggy window!!

I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out this problem. When I start my 05 liberty the windows fog up. I don't have anything on ac are heat. But when I do turn on the defrost it goes away. I believe I smell a hint of antifreeze. Just for a second ill smell it. It doesn't over heat whats so ever. Anything wil help thanks guys.

Sounds like a leaking heater core to me. Probably a small leak for the moment. The best thing is to get the heater core changed out. You may be tempted to try using a “stop leak” bottle. The stop leak stuff may work temporarily to seal the hole but it can narrow/plug your radiator passageways and gunk up your water pump and thermostat, making an engine overheat more likely.

The sweet smell of antifreeze is coming from the heater core and this job is not for the week of heart driveway mechanic... It requires tearing the dash apart to get to the heater core... If you do decide to tackle this job take pictures as you go and as you tear down the dash put the nuts,bolts,parts in a plastic (sandwich or quart size) bag and number each bag from one to final number used... put a description of what and where the parts came from... With pictures and counting down to zero this make this job a lot easier... Here is a current link to dash tear down...

I spent some time in a local "pull-a-part" yard learning the tricks on their donor cars and got the whole heater/AC box from that car also... I'd suggest getting a blend door motor and replace it while you are in there as it is a high failure item...
