Front axle thread disaster

Does anyone know the thread specifications for the front axle and font axle nut?

I was replacing my hubs and ran into a s***load of problems, one of which being cross threading BOTH axle nuts. I had to buy a new driver's side CV axle assembly, but would like to fix the passenger side threads and buy a new axle nut. I already bought a die for all the rusted ball joint threads I don't wan't to destroy, but haven't been able to find the axle thread size.

You can usually buy remanufactured cv's pretty cheap if you turn in your old ones as core charges. I would suggest doing that over trying to fix a cross thread issue by rethreading. For one that 36mm axle nut is going to take a monster die to rethread and it will probably greatly reduce the thread strength.

Go to NAPA and buy a new one, (CV) bet its almost cheaper than what a die would be , plus the nut etc

Agree, that would be an expensive die! not to mention also the hassles of re-threading, labour, potential unforeseen issues

Thank you all. CV axles have both been replaced. New axle nut was 36mm instead of 35mm so that was wonderful..... Also replaced upper control arms as ball joint boots were getting torn up. Finally, for the remaining ball joints, a drill-powered wire brush was all it took to clean up the threads - die was returned. Mission accomplished.
