Does any1 have for sale, or know how to get...the mounting plates..and only the mounting plates for the front tow hooks?

I bought all the pieces i need to make D rings, now i cant find this part. Chrysler will only sell me the entire tow hook assembly which is like $120 each out here...& i need 2!

is there another way to do this? I don't have a welding machine, or shop tools to fab my own plate...

I my have them out in the garage, I'd have to look but I think you'd be better off using two box recivers bolted into the openings in the front frame channels. Much more stronger and I think it's listed in the how to section.

I hope I'm not hijacking your thread, if so, I apologize, but this one fits my question the best I've found so far.

I have the mounting points for the tow bar for pulling the Lib behind an RV. Would those be suitable to use somehow, to add D rings up front? They are not centered like the ones on the lost jeeps web thread mentioned earlier in this thread. But If I could find a 1 1/4 inch of solid rod, and weld or flatten the rod large enough with a furnace, I could drill it out for a D ring. Anyone ever hear of using this method or similar?

Hello again...so i have 2x 2" Receiver tubes
CURT Manufacturing - CURT Receiver Tubing #49060

and 2x Smittybilt 29312B Receiver Hitch D-Rings.
http://www.smittybilt.com/images/products/primary/76_2.jpg

I looked at having these welded right onto the frame instead of bolting, and the tubes dont line up correctly, looks about 1" (height to frame) too short. If i weld some thick metal to the tubes and then weld all that to the frame, will it be okay? as in strong enough..?

If not & i need to bolt, does anyone have more information as to what can be used for a mounting plate, where to buy one etc...? I have read the how to's and understand how to do this, I just dont have a mounting plate so im kinda screwed right now..

PS: I think the second link I posted is the how-to Porkchop mentioned in Post #2 here.

He sent me PM I'm going to help out when I get home from vacation at the end of the week so kinda is a fortune cookie.

Here they are, all finished up. Great instructions, definitely easy to accomplish, hardest part was locating the mounting brackets. Big thanks to Porkchop for that, probably could not have done it without ya!! :party52:
