Hello,
I'm new to the forum and stumbled upon it through a Google search looking for advice. I have a 05 Liberty. 4wd, 6 cylinder. One night my car wouldn't start. It would crank but that's it. My mechanic told me it's the fuel pump. I purchased a fuel pump (he didn't tell me which one to buy so I bought the pump only). It started right up after he fixed it but when I drove it home and turned it off it wouldn't start again. Still cranking but not starting. And the check engine light was on. He read the code and it was for an O2 sensor. He replaced that and the exact same thing happened. It started, i drove it around but when it turned off it wouldn't start again. What could possibly be wrong?

Take the fuel pump out of the car and put it in the Jeep and see if that works?

Oh...he kicks, he scores!! ;)
A new pump doesn't mean a good pump, especially if it's an el-cheapo brand. If you don't have a fuel pressure gauge, get one and check the pressure at the fuel rail. What's the pressure at when you prime the pump (key on, not start), and does the pressure hold?
