I'd rather wait to get it done then unexpectantly having a ball joint fail while driving at 45mph. This news is promising, however, does the dealership have to follow suite on the recall if I roll in with my lifted Jeep?

I"m glad to see that SOMEBODY with the power to make Chrysler do something is realizing its not just the 02's and early 03's as orig. thought.

My main concern is what about the group of us (myself included) that are inbetween the recalled, and the possibly recalled (respectively the ones that were made from roughly april of 03, when the 1st recall ended, to whenever the recall date is set for the 04's)???

Mine was built in Dec '03.... I have a bad feeling that I am in that middle range that will get ignored.

LBJ recall could be huge...

Hopefully, with the NHTSA riding DC's butt, their investigation into the LBJ failures will move quickly (before DC ends up with a class-action lawsuit due to deaths from LBJ-related accidents). Does anyone know if DC has
been using the same LBJ part for every year of Liberty production? If so, they will end up having to recall every Liberty ever made, lifted or not. No bandaid fix (heat shield) this time!

I would imagine so. Been seeing the same problem popping up in alot of 04 models lately (mainly the guys over on LOST)....some lifted, some bone stock. Also seen several reports of where people have had the recall done, and the 2nd part either failed, or failed AGAIN.

Mine is also a December 03 baby (12/12/2003 actually). Again, right in that bad LBJ recall area between 03's and 04's.

Just like now, we had a revamp on the 05 WK and XK wire harnesses for the front doors. Apparently there were reports of not enough juice through the harness to operate extra feaures on the Laredo, Overland, and High-Line model doors. This was one in a great number but Lear decided to build a cable that could support enough power.

The revamp was done 3 weeks ago and we are still finishing out the last portion of the previous wire harnesses. 3 weeks knowing of the issue and the revamp and we finally get into the better harnesses.

So I can only assume that 04's made in 03's could have the LBJ problem.
