Looks like a 785cca? Should be good. I think the OEM one was even less than that.

You should be just fine with an AGM HJ. Say bye to any corrosion issues!
My 04 Jeep according to the build sheet came with a lead acid 600 CCA.

It died 3 years later, & when I bought it, had a new Mopar 650CCA -group 34 installed.
Today I use an Excide AGM 770 CCA, it tested out with a Midtroics load tester new @ 979 CCA nice!!

Thinking about going Bosch with my next one...

Just put a Bosch Platinum Series AGM in the wife's minivan (Pepboys). Only about a month but so far so good. Third battery in the 8.5 years we've owned it and we bought it new. Hopefully this will be the last, just turned 204k.

Ran Interstate batteries for years and years
Got stupid after the stocker in my 04 went bad, bought the Optima after 2 of them in less than a year went and got an Interstate
It lasted 5 years ( guaranteed for 6 ) , paid 30 bucks for a new one, its now been in over 3 years no issues
Interstate Megatron Plus
MTP 78DT
Cranking Amps at 0 Degrees F: 800 amps
Cranking Amps at 32 Degrees F: 1,000 amps
Reserve Capacity: 110 minutes
Like everything good and bad in all
have never even heard of the one Hoosier is getting nor could I find much online But like others should work well

That's the deal I was looking at. Good price if you buy online.

Yep, I got mine for about 140$ and it was listed for about 195.

I'm looking at this 800cca battery from advance auto.
AutoCraft Silver Battery, Group Size 34/78, 800 CCA 34/78-4: Advance Auto Parts

I believe that's a Johnson Controls one?
$83 after code TRT41 ($40 off $100) and $20 core deposit.

My 3.5 year old battery has nothing wrong with it except that its 540 cca . . .thats what they put on before i bought it . . .

I have the Autocraft Silver in two of my vehicles (98 Ranger and 01 Outback). Been a while and no problems at all. Replaced an Interstate (I always liked them too, Tom) in the Outback and a Parts Master in the Ranger. The Parts Master lasted like 8 years and was an emergency replacement for a Diehard that died quick. That Parts Master would fire that truck right up in single digit temps after it sat a week without moving. Diehard (upper level) only lasted about a week so I won't touch Diehards anymore. Probably just bad luck but that's the way I am. I've got a Duralast Gold in the Jeep 3ish years now and been great even when it gets kinda cold (and it does in Northern Maryland).

I put a Bosch in my Libby when I bought it and it's been great. I have a Duralast Gold in my ancient RV - it's 9 yrs old and still cranking the old 440 strong. I have an Autocraft Silver in my Astro and it's only so-so. I won't buy another to replace it. I had an Interstate in my old B250 and that was an awesome battery. I wish I'd kept it.

DieHard, however, can suck it. Had two in my Bravada. First replaced under warranty in less than a year. Second died just over a year and they didn't want to replace it, though I forced them. Will never buy another, not even if I'm desperate.

I had a similar thing with Diehards.

The Mopar battery crapped out in 07, got a Diehard. 2010, crapped out, got a new one for free. 2013, that one crapped out, got another on the prorated thing. 2016, new plan. Lol. Every 3 years. I hope this one lasts longer.

Only reason I have my current DieHard is because the other one was prorated a few bucks. Will be my last one.

Although I have to say...this thing puts out much more CCA than labeled.

Isn't it strange how people have different experiences with brand names . By far the worst experiences I've had with batteries was with Interstate . Most other batteries I've bought give me reasonable service . Best battery I've ever had was one of those Delco's with the green eye . That battery lasted 13 years .

I remember those green eye Delco's. Wonder if anyone still sells them. I had some good luck with a few of those. Seems like batteries used to last longer in the old days. Guess the vehicles weren't so electrically demanding back then. All the doodads these days seem to kill them quicker for some reason, or that whole idea of "programmed obsolescence" has permeated the automotive battery market too.

Had a couple of those "green eyed" Delco batteries. Had one in a GMC truck from brand new til the truck was 9 years old before it was replaced. Same with one in an Olds Cutlass that lasted 8 years or so. Both OEM batteries. GF's Impala with the OEM AC Delco battery lasted 7 years or so until I replaced it with another AC Delco. The car is 9 years old now with that replacement battery still working good.

The OEM Mopar battery in my KJ lasted about 5 years. Replaced it with a NAPA battery that is still in it and the Jeep is 11 years old.

The worst I can remember is one of those Ever Start Walmart ones that I put in a GMC truck and it barely lasted 2 years. It was the bigger heavy duty one.

Batteries do a tough job really. If your climate is too hot or cold it is ******* a battery. If the alternator is not working right. They don't like to be discharged much (not like a marine battery)

Must have been a GM thing. Now I remember "Green Eye" was factory in my 88 Beretta that I bought new. Had it 8 years and 250k and still working when I traded it in. Started it on some very cold mornings one when it was -21F. That car had the original clutch and original brakes when I traded it in, too. Might have had one in an old Chevy APV that came after this too.
Definitely had one in a 91 Corsica my wife and I had for 5-6years and traded that in with 247k on it without a battery change.

Apparently this has turned into a "name your favorite battery" thread. lol
In the past, I've had a couple Interstate batteries crap out before their time, less than 3 years old. I currently have an Interstate (Optima), been over 4 years and still going strong. My last Optima (pre-Interstate ownership) lasted 7+ years. I've always liked Optima, eventually I'll find out if now being an Interstate makes any difference on it's life.
