I have a 2012 Liberty Sport and want to hardwire my radar detector in. I have an escort branded smart cord hardwire kit that comes with a 3M add-a-fuse, and everything I need as far as that goes. So my question is, where can I find a wire that is hot with ignition under the driver side dash that I can tap in to for the radar detector to start up with the Jeep. Thanks in advance!

Use the radio fuse in the fuse box. Get a blade fuse with a wire lead on it.

My cord is not long enough to reach under the hood, nor do I want to go outside the passenger compartment. Anybody know an easy way to get to the wires for the 12v outlet on the lower dash? Or what those wires even look like?

I dropped my cable down the front defroster vent and fished it out through the stereo. I then pulled the trim on the right and left of my steering wheel and ran the cable under the wheel, zip-tying it along the way. From there I tied it into my stereo fuse.

Thanks, I should have mentioned that I mount high, above the rear view mirror. Does anybody know where a wire may be that I can tap?

You know, wires can be extended. The best way to do it is to go to the fuse box, but you said that wasn't possible. Option two is to go to the radio. Simply splice into the current wires, and then splice into the radio.
