CRAP! I see your profile says you are in Maine... but the image has a CA plate... you must have moved.. which state are you in now? OK, so if CA, great, all of that applies.. if in Maine, that was all for nothing and you/we will need to look up Maine's laws.
Here is some starting point for Maine, just inc ase:
Title 29-A, §1904: Headlights
Maine is much more forgiving of modifications and additions of lighting it seems...
Well that was thorough. I appreciate you diving into the nitty gritty of it. I tried to not use the light bar on road in CA unless it was needed, and in those situations I doubt that an officer would have ticketed me. That happened to be only a couple times that I can remember, once in a snow storm en route to Tahoe, and once on the desert backroads en route to Mojave. I do have a cover for it as required by CA law but never even used it, and was never hassled about it. Funny enough, my headlight blew one evening while leaving my farm in CA and I figured, no biggie, I'll grab a bulb at a parts store tonight and fix it tomorrow. Not an hour into my drive home through Hollister and I get pulled over by CHP, give my explanation and am let on my way. Seriously have a headlight out for <1hr and get hassled funny how that works. Meanwhile, here in Maine, 2/10 cars have a headlight out, cruising like it's no big deal. :emotions34:
I literally just moved to Maine a month ago and haven't had the chance to get my plates. Thinking of getting a custom ag plate, CANABZ, but am concerned about being profiled. Ahh, decisions decisions. Sorry for the misleading nature of the picture.
