Headliner out

If anyone's the least bit curious, there's not a whole lot above the headliner.

This is the front just behind windshield. There's a plastic "cup" supposed to be glued to the two white globs to mount the console/lights to. It appears to have came unglued long ago

This is the center of the roof. There's 2 braces, more or less under where weight would rest if one attached something between factory rails. As you can see, my rearward one's been overloaded and bent away from the roof at some time. Luckily the roof popped back to correct shape.

This is from rear looking forward. Please forgive the discolor/blur.

I removed headliner to install an overhead gunrack, as well as locate and install wiring to roof rack light bar.

Time to install insulation, sound deadner as well, helps out a ton, makes it very quiet inside then
fill cross bars with spray in foam, works well

I'd kinda kicked around using spray foam to re-anchor the bent cross brace. This'll never be a long trip style vehicle, so insulation and noise aren't a real priority. Great idea though.

How difficult is it to remove? I like Mudd's idea, plus I have an annoying rattle in the front, probably those "cups".

Hey Tom - where can you get small quantities of spray foam - I'm assuming spray and not the gap filler.

Honestly, I have 3 employees here at the tire shop. I asked them to start removing it while I went to the bank and post office. 15 minutes later when I returned it was out undamaged.

This is the 1"X1" square steel tube I've installed on the front cross brace to fill the gap between roof and headliner to attach an overhead gun rack

The other end of wires behind instrument panel where they'll be tied into "unswitched", "Switched", "instrument panel lights", etc.

Not all of them have a designated purpose yet. But better to have them for future use than have to tear all that stuff out again.
