heater plug problem, now a leak in the block

It started 4 months ago.

I changed the glow plug for cyl 3, then cyl 2, then cyl 2 and heater plug module after 1 month.

Now cyl 2 is gone again and the shop says there is a small leak in the block killing the plugs.

repair bill is around 2500 usd :freak3:

Have anybody have the same problem before? I tried searching but could not find a post about similar situation.

total bill came to $5000. good thing now i have to forget about buying a LR Defender and keep the jeep at least for 3-4 more years

didn't because in the US my jeep should worth around 8000 but here it is over 30k.

with the damage they would only give me around 20k

I also like the vehicle a lot. it was not easy to part

for all the CRD owners, I had to pay this bill to understand the importance of warming up the motor in the morning. spend that extra minute to run in idle and you will avoid this problem

Why so someone else get's stuck with the problem and come to places like this and complain?

That is why you hear so many bad things on boards like these as poeple buy these used vehicles that the 1st owner abused and never maintained correctly and then when that one big repair is needed they pawn it off to someone else then the 2nd owner get's shafted in the end.Why you never ever buy used anymore,sure buying new you take a big hit but it's better in the long run.

Thats the reason, I give my crd a warm up even in summer, and keep the rpm's down until the temp starts coming up, and if it's been on the highway i give the turbo a cool down idle. I know this is wasting fuel, but for that repair bill I can idle a long time.
