To fit these I used a set of KK clevis's, a clevis lift and some extra ISO pads above the rear springs. The alittle trimming up front.

Price of 4 spacers is around 100$ so I don't think you can find 4 new wheels for that.

Really ?
I have a full set of 5 Soft 8s for 125. great shape, also picked up 5 Moabs for not that much more
So yes you can

Running the 265/70's with 21 inches from center to bottom of finder, front and back. Haven't touched the pinch wield. Plenty of room. Only contact I have is with sway bar at full lock. Cut some of the air dam up front that the tire would grab backing up.

Is it possible to install a new tires 255/70R16 on stock wheels 16" without backspace ?

For information, my KJ is equipped with 2.5" lift JBA.

All wheels have backspace. Maybe were thinking of a spacer. tommudd wasn't using a 5 inch spacer, but the wheels are a different size than stock. It's difficult to imagine how backspace and wheel width interact, but the website Rims n' Tires will help a lot.

Stock wheels they maybe close to the spring/ Spindle area.
A lot depends on what tread / manufacturer etc as to fitment

To further elaborate on this
Moabs from a 03-06 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon are 16X8 and have the same backspacing as stock KJ wheels have so no difference there.
They just set out more on each side since they are 8 inch wide -vs- 7 stock

245/75r16 with stock will be fine.

I have 235/85r16 mud terrain tires that i ran with no regear for a half year, and series of adjusting frontend height.
