I just purchased an 05 Liberty limited with the in dash 6 disc changer. The front passenger side speaker is blown and makes an awful popping noise, so right now to listen to the radio I'm sending all the sound to just the back speakers. I thought it would be pretty simple to replace the factory speakers, but after reading some stuff on these boards I'm confused. I saw someone say that certain systems have 3 ohm speakers and built in amps. What I'm confused about is how to tell if mine has built in amps, etc.

Sorry if this is something that's been asked a million times.

Not to sure what ohm the stock speakers are but yes, they do have a amp mounted TO the front speakers.

If you dont want to go ahead put a better stereo in it then I suggest you look around for some stock front speakers. Ebay is a good place to look around.

Difficult, not much, that is after you make sure what you got.
Please open up the door trims and make sure you have the premium sound system with the amps built in to the door. If they are, you have to get stock speakers.
Dealers charge just too much. if you end up not being able to find them on ebay, just replace the system, it will still be cheaper than what the dealer will want to charge you.
