No, I wasn't able to get it back into 2wd. The 4wd lever is completely loose, it goes into all positions but does nothing.

It was the 4wd lever, apparently I disconnected it by pulling to ******* it, but I must be superman because I really didn't apply much force. I just don't know my own power. Maybe I needed a trip to the dealer today. ](*,)

Ive heard about those breaking on the kj's before. Ive read about it a few times over on lost. Usually if you are on ice, you need 4part-time and not 4low.

To shift into 4low, its best to be rolling 2-3mph then shift it into 4low. sometimes the gears do not mesh correctly and then you get a broken cable by pulling on it to hard. I wouldnt feel to bad about it. Since the Jeep is an 02, it could of been getting alittle old and brittle. It may of been alittle hard to shift since it is your moms jeep, I take it that 4low isnt used that much? :)

I always tell my sister this:

"I don't care if it is dry, if you're just in a straight line, use the 4WD every once in a while to keep the fluids an oils going, so it'll always be there when you really DO need it."

:)
