that may be the front differential breather hose.
Can you try to trace where the other end goes to?
If it is the breather hose, then the other end should go to a plastic fitting like so under the battery on the wheel well.

The other end seem to be hooked on the transmission.

Does it go to the transmission cooler? I thought those were a different style of hose.

I know. I'm confused
The hose is connected to like transmission I think? Just under the engine oil filter.

That is the front differential under the engine - so that hose is the differential breather hose. As USSDefiant mentioned in his post it is supposed to have a fitting on the end that slips over a bolt for the front shock under the battery.
The hose should be tied up out of the way of of any moving parts and high enough that no water can get in it and flow back to the differential.

Can't be the transmission cooler lines.
If it was, ****** fluid would be spewing everywhere.

By the way, I noticed in your picture where you're holding the diff breather hose that your serpentine belt is off and your fan shroud is removed. I assume you're going to replace the belt and put the shroud with the electric fan back on...?
You must reconnect the electric fan (located in the fan shroud) as it is the primary cooling fan. It is turned on by the Jeep's computer at specific times; the mechanical fan in your pic comes on as the temperature rises in the engine bay. However, it cannot be relied on to keep the Liberty's engine at the proper temperature all by itself.
What maintenance/repairs are you doing to your Jeep?
