My first car was a '93 Chevy Blazer S-10, it broke down beyond worth repairing so I got a crappy 2000 Hyundai Elantra from a family friend. That car didn't last long before I wanted something similar to the Blazer. My dad and I were just driving around during Winter Break my freshman year of college and came accross a Jeep dealership and decided to have a look around. An hour or two later we were negotiating prices and signing paperwork. A few days later I surprised my girlfriend (now wife) at her parents' house in the mountains with the new Jeep and money for a snowboard trip!

We lost 3 cars during Katrina, her 02 Hyundai Accent (her very first car ever), my 88 Pulsar and my 74 Dodge Monaco. Since Mississippi was uninhabitable, once we salvaged what we could from the house (thank god we were only renting) and handled the insurance, I took my wife and the dog to my mother-in-law's house in San Antonio. She started looking for a new vehicle and since we had been in a flood, she wanted a 4x4 that rode higher than a car. She saw Liberty's and decided she wanted one (she had always wanted a Cherokee, but liked the rounder lines of the 02-04 Libby). So down to the carmax where she got her first car she went. I got a long weekend a 2 months later, rented a car and drove out. We went to look at what they had and there sat a beautiful black 03 or 04 Renegade, fully loaded. She didn't like the rivet fenders and refused to learn how to drive stick (it was a 5sp). So we were about to leave when this black 04 drove up straight from the detailing shop. We test drove it, she loved it and home we went with it.

When I was looking for my first car I was looking at the Grand Cherokee, living in a desert I wanted a 4x4 and some room for taking friends on road trips and what not. Went to a dealership and asked if they had any Grand Cherokees, they said no but showed me an 03 Liberty Limited 4x4. Never really looked into the Liberty but after test driving it, I loved it and bought it that day. Then about a year later got T-boned/broadsided by a car. I was fine, but my Liberty was totaled. So had to get another Liberty and found an 04 Liberty Limited 4x4 on Craigslist and ended up buying it. Been over a year since I bought it and no major problems at all! Only bad thing is that it's still stock! :happy175:

I originally wanted a GC Laredo. Just the basic model with the command trac. I couldn't find one with out the automatic 4 wheel drive (quadra drive 1) unless I bought a limited which was out of my price range. I drove a liberty later and bought it instead.

Local used cars dealership. I always wanted Wrangler but KJ price was more affordable :) and it had only 32000 kms on it! Very important because my daily commuting 100 kms. Also purchased no time limit warranty up to 200000 kms so for me this is worry free vehicle.

After my car flooded, I was in the market for something, but had no idea what. Cash-for-clunkers and crappy economy, it seemed all the decent used/low mileage cars were taken. I could only find POS ecoboxes or high mileage Honda's and American sedans (G6, Cobalt, lots and lots of Cobalts). I wanted something that would get me around in the winter and enjoyable in the summer. Timing for a new car was bad, since it was a month before my wedding and 3 weeks before moving! I had no time to waste, as I needed a car ASAP.

I went to a few places and one had 2 Liberty's. Since I was open to anything, I test drove a 2006 KJ. I was able to take it for a little off-road adventure in the dealers new soon-to-be lot. Only disappointment was the alignment was off and the fenders had overspray, which indicated it was in an accident. Their 2nd KJ was a Renegade (Can't remember year), but it had too many miles for the price. Funny part was they had a "Great Gas Mileage" sticker on the 2006 KJ :freak3:

That's when the search continued! I must of looked at 5 KJs, almost all of them were beat to hell, one even had a oil light on and sounded like crap. I was amazed on how some of these dealers were trying to sell it in that type of condition.

Finally found my KJ after a week of searching. My wife was confused, as their garage by downtown Chicago was filled with high end luxury cars worth $60k+. The KJ was parked at the very last floor of the parking garage. So we were able to pass by tons of 7 series BMW's, Porsche's, Maserati's.

I called my mother who was a manager at a jeep dealer. My grand lease was up and they had a Libby on the lot that I was told I would like...her dealership is nearly 2,000 miles away. Faxed some paperwork back and forth and a week later it arrived at my condo. Lol. Easiest deal I ever did.

It found me.. Ordered it through military purchase program. Originally was gonna get a Renegade but something changed in model year forced us to change. Got the Limited, wife wanted it in white, she thinks white vehicles are safer, it was cooler in Hawaii that was for sure..

back in 2011 i had been looking specifically for a Libby, thinking I'd be buying an early model i happened upon an add in the local buy and sell 2006 jeep Liberty limited 110,000 km's $9500 got to the dealership they said it was listed wrong and were actually asking $11,900 (this jeep is nice, strait no rust, only 5 stone chips on the hood and a few on front bumper. never been in a reported accident/collision full service records) i went on about illegal advertising and how the add should have been pulled and rewritten since the add had been online for over a week and said it should be reported to better business and they shouldn't lour customers in falsely like that. ended up paying $9760 taxes in was pretty proud of myself lol

Pretty easy for me.
Was searching for a VUS, escape, libby, rav 4 etc.
Found it on a site where dealer can post their used car. On the picture it was clean and perfect, in real life it was the same. It was love, the true one. Went trough many issue for the paper work but the dealer walked with me in all of them ( he was a nice guy ) and finally, it was mine!

MY corolla was about to bite the bullet at 300000kms and traded it to a kid in highschool that wanted something easier on gas. He didnt have much knowledge or common sense when it came to cars. I've seen it at the local shop 3 times in the 4 months I've had his lib. WIN

Went to look at something else and came home with the Liberty.

However the lil misses loves it and now we own it :happy107:

and can go places the CRV never imagined, someday soon!

mine isnt long. some lowlife stole my customized 96 dodge ram. i like red. i wanted a small pickup. new dakotas were horrible vehicles. rangers cost too much, dont like foreign trucks. went looking for a small suv. this was the only small suv i could find that was RWD with proper 4x4, no traction control, no abs etc. so i hit up autotrader and bought the only red one listed within 100km of me.

I guess I'll add my story too. When I lived in NC, I had a 94 chevy truck with a 5 spd and a 01 Taurus that I bought for my ex. I sold the truck when I moved to MN, and kept the car because it was better for hauling kids around in. One day the ex went up to Minneapolis to visit a friend, and the Taurus got stolen. I found it in an impound lot, stripped like you see in the movies. Up on blocks and everything. So I bought the first thing I could find that I could afford, a 98 Saturn. Not a bad car, very reliable, and it had a 5 spd too. But after years of driving it, I was sick of it and wanted my truck back. So I looked online and one of the first things I saw was a Liberty Renegade. I'd never really paid attention to Libertys before, but I thought the lights on top and the way the body looked was badass. I went to look at it, and saw it had a 5 spd also, and said sold. I took it for a test drive just because, but I didn't even care if anything was wrong with it, I wanted it, and now I have it :rockit:

We had a Mitsubishi Eclipse and decided we wanted a small SUV instead. Looked for weeks at all the different makes & models and decided on a Liberty. Went to the closest dealer and spent a couple hours haggling. They never came close to what was offered in an ad by a dealer about 30 miles away. They said the other dealer couldn't sell a Liberty for the advertised price. I called the other dealer the next morning and they said yes, the ad price was the price. They asked what color we wanted. It was sitting by the front door, ready to go, when we got there that evening. 20 minutes of signing papers and we were on our way home.
