Changed the alternator pulley wheel today ,job was really easy .First i removed the serpentine belt by placing a 17mm spanner on the spring loaded tensioner and applying pressure in the direction of the battery. Then it was just a matter of removing the battery cable, and both wires going to the alternator. Two bolts hold the alternator in place a 15mm and an allen key one.Removed alternator from vehicle and placed on a bench ,the next part is really easy if you have access to an air powered socket gun.Using a male socket (similar to an allen key not sure what they are called) a quick blast of the air gun in an anti clockwise direction removes the pulley .Without air tools the job would be much harder as you would have to try and lock the alternator shaft before trying to loosen .Fitted a new serpentine belt whilst i was at it for peace of mind.Absolutley made up with the result ,much less noise from engine bay. Cost me £115 for pulley wheel and belt from stealership. But i'm very happy with the noise reduction
.
