Ok, turns out I used the wrong coolant then.. (will drain, flush and refill G-05).
I ended up paying 100$ for a mechanic to diagnose the electric system and surprise: it was the alternator. Only way I can explain this to myself is that it must have failed periodically until it fully died (11.5V with engine on) before I brought it in. With new alternator in the battery light is off for the first 30 miles.
