Ok! I called the dealer to see about skids. The guy told me that i had to have some kind of bracket to mount the engine skid in the front! I have looked online at the how to install engine skid and it show nothing about a bracket in the front! 1)I want to know is that true? 2)Will a 05+ engine skid work with a 2003?

go to Jparts.com
order from them
and ive never heard of the need for a braket for these.

the skid for the 05 will work but there is a difference with the holes
you will need to do some drilling

When I ordered my skids thru the dealer, I was told that the ****** skid is discontinued for the '02-04 models. I found my front suspension skid on E-bay and ordered the ****** and transfer case skids for an '05...just had to drill 1 hole...maybe 2 (can't remember now) in the cross member to mount the trans skid.

This engine skid you are referring to is the front suspension skid I think.

If you are going to order an OE trans skid just send me $50 and I will send you
some tin foil because that is about the same quality

oh and why not save the money for something more functional for a 2wd?
skids on a 2wd is really **** polish
by the time you NEED them you will be stuck any way

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Being 2wd you only need a trans skid and gas tank skid. The vulnerable part of the engine oil pan(the sump) is covered by the trans skid.No t-case so no use for a t-case skid and can actually interfere with the driveshaft on a 2wd model.

But like already stated putting skids on a 2wd is like polishing a **** IMO.

not sure they answered the question totally
the early years skids have been discontinued..
however pre kk skids are all teh same shape wise.. except for the placement of a couple screw holes...

as i understand it.
