Both are practical...so I'm not sure.

I'd personally go for the basket, as I prefer mods that I could remove if need be. JMO.

x2 With high miles on my truck you never know what can happen so id rather spring for the mods I can take off and re-sell if anything ever happens.

BUT ultimately it is your call, what hood vents are you looking at? Im interested

I just found the thread on the vents. They look pretty cool.. Not sure if I'd call it practical though and installation looks like a PITA!

I installed hood vents on my TJ
took about 2 hours total time
I installed some from Gen-Rite off road ,3 pcs set
cut the hood with a Jig saw and some good quality blades
This would be why my vote is for the hood vents
made a world of difference as far as under hood temps go ,not as hot when I open it
roof basket is more "bling" we had 1 on the KJ used it twice a year
I had/have a trail rack for my TJ and use it maybe twice a year or less

Roof basket. The only thing hood vents belong on is a 1940's Buick.
