What year of kj do you have?

You can download the 2003 Jeep KJ Service Manual here. Section 8W has the wiring diagrams...look at the Component Location heading which will direct you to the correct page for Coil Packs.
Most wires have a solid color with a thinner stripe running down its length ie. a Black Wire with a Light Blue stripe is labeled as BK/LB...this is explained in the beginning of the Wiring Diagrams.

OK the 2003 Jeep KJ Service Manual shows on Page # 8W-30-30 for the 3.7 gasser that all the coil packs have Dark Green/Orange wires which go to +12 volts while Coil Pack #1 has its other pin being switched to ground via a Tan/Red wire to the PCM.....no mention of any other wires such as a Purple/White!
Check the wiring on the other coil packs to see if their colors match the wiring diagram...different year models of the KJ have different colors so your 2003 may have been at a change-over point!
There are frequent errors in these Wiring Diagrams so I would not stake my life on this!
Purple with White stripe sounds like a Jeep KJ color....I will try find it in the diagrams to see why this may in use here.
Have you traced the other end of this wire inside the cabin? Maybe someone has bypassed something or has replaced the original wire for some reason.....are you having any issues?

Thank you for your help I afraid to see what they hooked that wire too. This jeep is a nightmare nothing but headaches it has a mind of its own. I am ready to throw in the towel on this thing. I bought it from my neighbor daughter for 800.00. It took me and my buddy 4 hours to clean out the interior. Had to pull the console and wash the seats. They put water in the radiator and never did anything to this jeep. I replaced 90% of everything under the hood starting with injectors, coil pack even relays.
I went to automotive tech school in the late 80's and specialized in engine diagnostic and computer. I even worked for the FBI NYC office fixing their cars. But this jeep is killing me. Like last night I drove it for over an hour it ran great. But I started throwing a code for #5 cylinder so I pulled the plug it was fine. I did a compression test it was 170 and swapped coils with #1. I put the fuse back for the injectors. I clear any codes and start it up the jeep barely ran it threw codes out like a ice cream machine. I rechecked everything even my neighbor double checked for me. It kept throwing codes for every cylinder. I finally just pulled both battery cables off and left till the morning. I hook everything back up and it runs fine no codes. I am so tired of working on this thing. It's my back up vehicle when not driving my mustang.
Found where it goes to it is part of a homemade kill switch. I never seen a kill switch hooked up to a coil wire before.
Also found that there are more relays under the dashboard. I did not see any where it being mentioned in any of my repair manuals or owners.

Probably part of a remote start. I just ran something that sounds the same for my remote start kit. It gets the voltage signal from there to let the unit know the jeep is running.

If these relays are actually under the dash then it could be a remote start as jeeptorino68 mentioned or could be relays for the Tow Package....I have never found these Tow Package Relays!
