I'm due for an engine oil change and I've got some spare money and wanna go ahead and do an entire fluid change. So I'm going to do a coolant flush through my Jeep dealer and then this is what I need help on....

Front and Rear Differential Oil.... What brand and type should I get?

Engine Oil & Filter.... I use Mobil One Full Synthetic... What do ya'll recommend?

Transmission Oil.... What brand and type should I get?

Are there any other fluids I could change?

Is there a filter on the ******?

1. Front and Rear Differential Oil.... What brand and type should I get?

2. Engine Oil & Filter.... I use Mobil One Full Synthetic... What do ya'll recommend?

3. Transmission Oil.... What brand and type should I get?

4. Are there any other fluids I could change?

5. Is there a filter on the ******?

1. I use synthetic. Brand will be a personal preference.

2. The M1 will serve you well. I like WIX/NAPA Gold filters.

3. ATF+4 is a must. You don't need the Mopar brand. Many manufacturers make it. http://www.centerforqa.com/licensedatf4brands.html

4. Brake and PS fluids come to mind. Use DOT 3 brake fluid and ATF+4 for the PS.

5. yes

What kind of ****** filter do you guys use with the ATF+4?

If I changed brake fluid how would I go about doing that? Also for the ps fluid?

Also what about fuel filter? Should I change it?

Just get a trans kit for a 42RLE trans, make sure it has only 1 filter since most places only list a filter kit for a KJ with the 45RFE,dealership is the best bet for this.

Being a '05 you no longer have a fuel filter per say that can be changed.

Change the brake fluid. In my eye's it’s the most neglected fluid everyone over looks. They don't print it in the owner’s manual, but they should start. We change the fluid that makes us go but never the fluids that make us stop.

That's why my brake fluid has been flushed 4 times in 69,000miles,granted 1 of those times I swapped in braided lines and another was when I SFA'd my KJ(new axles).

Just use DOT 3 or DOT 4,does not matter and both will mix with each other and cause no issues.Only use brake fluid from a sealed container.

When I still had stock axles in my KJ I used Mobil 1 75w-140,my new axles I must use 85w-140 dino gear only(well at least for the rear axle).

and if you have the limited slip make sure you add the friction modifier additive.

Mobil 1 75w-140 is used in both the front and rear axles?
How much for each?
and how much and what kind of friction modifier?
I really need to do this at 90k which is soon.

-Yes that is okay

-Owners manual has the capacity

-Owners manual states that also

-Diff fluid changes are speced at every 12,000 miles,in the owners manual also

My owner's manual calls for diff fluid changes every 15k miles under severe service, with this note:

‡Off-highway operation, trailer towing, taxi, limousine,
bus, snow plowing, or other types of commercial service
or prolonged operation with heavy loading, especially in
hot weather, require front and rear axle service indicated
with a ‡ in Schedule “B”. Perform these services if the
vehicle is usually operated under these conditions.

I personally feel that for most of us, changing synthetic fluid that often is overkill. IOW, most of our vehicles are not "usually operated under these conditions". However, everyone has their own comfort level.
