In the middle of a job, please help!

Im replacing my rear shocks with RSX. I noticed there is a little play in the top shock bolt, do I need to use some washer in there or just bolt it down?

Most get washers to take up the space

I've read (never done it) that you can either put some washers in there, or really torque down on the bolt to crush the mount on the KJ. I, personally, wouldn't do this (crushing mount).

Worst case, if you have no means to get washers, just bolt it up, drive to the store, and get them. I don't think it'd cause you any issue other than noise. If you're worried about it, just take it slow.

i rest my case...per my previous discussion about differences in shock mounts, the RSX's are indeed different.

from what i was told, i think most people just use washers to take up the space.

Tightened the heck out of them first time(s),went to washer,should have done that to begin with.

Thanks guys, got it done! It took 3 washers on each top bolt.

I thought the fronts were considered struts?

I do believe it's called a coil-over shock when there is an upper-control arm and a strut if there isn't an upper-control arm... Not much of a difference in my opinion...

Roger roger....just wondering. I have heard coil-over used before, which makes more sense I guess.
