Ditch that crappy 3ft antenna and put on a 102" stainless whip on that HD Ball Mount, you can get a gutter clip and curve it back to the rear passenger side door, that would look cool.

No thanks. I love the 3' one and it works perfectly. Why mess with perfection? :D

This may sound odd, but I wish front plates were required here.

How come? I am gald to not have one. My old ones kept getting ripped off my other jeeps. I was worried LEOs would give me a hard time about not having it, but it hasn't been an issue yet.

I took the jeep out and put it to the test tonight. It was awesome. I'll post some pics a bit later when my buddy sends them to me since he took them all.

You can have mine!
When I lived in Alberta, we didn't need to have one.
When I came back to B.C. for a visit we kept getting harassed by the pigs...
"Wheres your front licence plate, bla bla bla...Then I tell them I'm fom Alberta and they feel and look like the complete idiots that they all are!

That's not bad considering. If mine were paid off, I would dump 8 grand into mine for a SFA convo.

That amount of money is actually very reasonable for what you have done!

The deal I got on labor was out of this world and I searched and searched for deals on everything I got for the project. I think the amount of money I put in to what I got out, was totally worth it. I love the way it all worked out.

If somebody could offer that conversion for that price, I'm sure that many more serious KJ owners would consider an SFA conversion as a viable option compared to lets say a Jeepin by al 6 inch lift kit!

It will be very interesting to see what Rock Lizard prices his kit at.

so did your fab guy admit to basically doing the job for free or does he not understand just how cheap that was?

I didn't realize how dang cheap you got the front axle. Man that was a good deal.

Yes he does. He said he didn't make a dime on it, may have lost money even, but he said with the coverage the jeep will bring him, it was worth it to get the job. He just loves building jeeps as well and really enjoyed doing a custom rarity.

The front axle was still $75-100 more than I wanted to pay, but the little bit I wanted to save on it would not have made it worth passing on the axle and building a D44 or a D30 up. The only things I had to do to that axle besides fab new coilover mounts, was box in the passenger side upper control arm mount and get a new axle breather tube for it. Very, very sweet deal on an axle that has $3,000 into it. Funny thing is I asked about sleeving my rear axle on another forum and the guy I bought it from commented on the job and then mentioned his front axle. We got to talking and closed the deal shortly thereafter.

Anyone looking to do this may not get the labor deal I got, but there are deals out there on all the parts you need for a build like this. I waited and searched and searched and waited, had friends looking for deals, and got lucky a few times and it all worked out in the end. I think that the jeep is pretty great for what it cost to build, plus I didn't spend the amount that a new jeep would have cost me.

Now watch, that owner of that JK is gonna run out and get his rig lifted!

Nice KJ!
I'll beat on ours for a few years and then go the SFA route in the future!

Ryan, I think that JK is already lifted if he is running 35" tires. The reason is, my Son just put 33" Duratracs on a stock JK Sahara and there is a very minimal rubbing at full lock on the front tires. I'm pretty sure he said they were 33". He also put a winch bumper and winch on it but I don't think that caused it to rub. So that means that Inc's KJ is even higher than it looks in the pic if it is sitting next to a lifted JK.

Anyway, Inc, you need to find a stock KJ and park next to it for a pic to really get a true comparison of the actual difference. You probably already did this???

Awesome KJ Inc.

Yes, that JK has a lift on it, probably 2.5-3" lift. I came out as the owner, a woman, drove off.

I looked for a stock Kj to park next to, but none were to be found with an empty space next to them. I'd really like to find a stock 2005 Renegade to compare next to.

Thanks Ryan and Dave.
