Mostly posting this for my own future edification, as I do...

Watching a Hoonigan channel, Carcaine Rehab, Scotto's Land Rover.
Cummins R2.8 crate motor swap
NSG370 trans with adapter plate
SPEC clutch
B&M short throw shifter

stuffing all that into his broke down Rover. Kinda wondering... R2.8 swap into a KJ anyone? :D

I might be totally off base with it but I was playing with their Gear Ratio Calculator, put in 29.3" tires, 4.10 gears, and my "altered" NSG 370 gearing config (5.01, 2.61, 1.72, 1.19, 0.80, 0.58).
at the 1800rpm torque peak it says i'd be doing 66mph on 6th. that sounds like almost perfectly ideal.
same speed in 5th puts it at 2500rpm, nicely into the "performance" band I'd think for towing.

and after playing some more, I probably wouldn't bother with the 5.01 first gear, and just stick with the 4.46

I love seeing Cummins Swaps in Land Rover Defenders, a few have done it and I am impressed. I wonder if anybody will do the Cummins 5.0 Swap out.

This was interesting. I saw it yesterday when it wasn't on a Jack but he lost the bottom balljoint.

See a lot of them on Fakebook, kids buying a KJ that is worn out, the ******** cause something broke, blaming Jeep for cheap products. NO it's the owners to lazy to check parts and running their KJ into the ground . Wish we could keep the prices above what they could afford LOL
