Hit it with your purse,Mary. Do as Tom says,Vise grips,and jerk it out. The CV axle came off? If so it can be a bugger to get out but it will come.

if the intermediate shaft is stuck you can put a pry bar in outer snap ring groove and pry against the body. If all the splines and groove have worn away vice grips it is and you have no worries about damaging it as its long past toast.

If its stuck in the CV axle socket put intermediate shaft in vice and smack the big end of the cv joint with a hammer and block of wood combo if you want to reuse the CV.

There is nothing holding that axle in place except those c clip rings so brute force is all is required.

It will feel that way at times, but there is only a small slip on snap ring holding it in there . Just push in as far as you can with vice grips whatever on it and as soon as you push in, pull out ******* it
