I'm trying to figure out why everyone seems to have this opinion when no one can defend it
Defend what? Bro you lift a rig you add bumpstops to protect your ****..simple how it's done always will be,never gonna change..but your rig do what you want,nobody has to defend anything

Since people started building " cars " there have been some sort of bumpstop to keep the suspension where it should be, depends on vehicle and type of travel as it cycles the suspension going down the road
Look at any 1920s ( and on up ) truck for example there are bumpstops there
Why do you think there are bumpstops on your Liberty now ?
Since the beginning of lifting 4x4s main rule is one inch of bumpstop for one inch of lift
You do that so you do not over compress your shocks
Ask me how I know , Had my 04 apart before an off road trip , forgot to install one rear bumpstop and blew that shock (a 2 week old 132L OME )
But if you would rather not believe us, go ahead and run without, see what happens
But do not come back saying someone should of convinced you before
Many of us have been lifting and running 4x4s for 40 years plus
Guess what we learned ? ...............
Oh well
you can lead a horse to water but you can not force it to drink

No one is arguing you shouldn't use bump stops. I'm arguing you don't need extended length bump stops with this particular setup. If I installed 2" of hockey pucks per the recommendation of this thread, I'd have <1.5" of travel before they're engaged

Pictures/ measurements / on and on posts will not help anyone at all

Yes, that's what I measured, vertical feom center of hub to the bottom edge of the fender flare, as seen in the previous photos

I ordered some Moog rear LCA's off Amazon a year and half ago. When I got them, they had Moog on the box and the arms, but were cheap Chineese knock offs made out of "chineesium" with terrible bushings. When i contacted the seller for a refund, he refunded the money and did not want the arms back ! Hummmm... They wore out in less than 6 months. Same thing with the rear upper control arm, lasted 6 months. Someone on here told me about Iron ROck Off Road as JBA did not make the Liberty setup any more. So I went with Iron Rock Offroad complete rear set up. I opted for the flex joints over the stock Mopar bushings. I allows a little more road noise in, but I'm not a fan of changing control arms every 6 months !Has worked very well so far.

Plenty of hockey pucks everywhere, now we just need sticks, right? Or is that what words are for 'round here, instead of kindness and helping each other with patience?

Jeep KJ forums. A Happy Place! Nothing like the mod making people feel welcome. Apparently there's only one opinion that matters on the internet, that's why we have communities, right? Or is this how this place is run, only one opinion is allowed?

Or does no one else want to risk the mod's bullying and demeaning? There are other places for info. If this is all I get here for asking questions, then no reason to stick around.

A manufacturer tells you their bump stops aren't good for your application, but on testy character on the internet says different, no point asking any other questions, right?
That is how tommudd is. Take the advice or argue. I don't always agree with him and his harsh criticism; but I am going to buy OME lift this year. Daystar 2.5in Spacers and factory springs are making my tires rub and and shocks rattle (up front) after 5 years. Measures 20.5 inches all around. 265/65-17 tires. Do what you want! I may just replace the springs and save some money or a fork lift from a 2011,2009 or 2008. Who knows.

Moog has parts made all over the globe. Cheapest part with a quality standard.(?) I have been using Moog. CHRYSLER has used them on there vehicles in the 2000's. Not sure about now. I bought a cheap Chinese unbranded box with Moog laser etched P/N and logo that looks just like the local part store Moog Wheel bearing hub assembly. 3 years and no play or noise. Time will tell.

Man, that’s a great deal. I recently installed the exact same kit on my 03 liberty and left everything else stock. I called Ironman to confirm I don’t need extended bump stops and they said “if it’s not included in the kit you don’t need it.” So far, they were right.
How much actual lift did you get? Thanks.

Just measured all four, 21-21.5 all the way around. I started out on old ones at 18.5. So they're holding at 3" from where I was stock. Here's where I reported 18.5" before the work started: https://www.jeepkj.com/threads/ironman-4x4-kit-for-525-starting-a-build.78495/page-3#post-792369

A lot more than I was expecting, but it's visually quite a lot higher than expected, too.
stock was 19 inches from the factory
so as to not confuse any newbys
and the Ironman will drop to 2

You realize that no liberty out there is out of the "factory" height anymore..he is talking about his kj and what he got,no newbie is gonna get confused..we get it you don't like the ironman kit, it's his thread and hes reporting his gains smh

Well...

Imo...and it is jus an opinion.

I have a great ride with the Bil shocks and OME springs. I could corner on pavement at higher speeds, not suggesting it should be driven that way, but "I AM A PROFESSIONAL DRIVER" on an open road.

AND...I could ride the roughest roads and climb any mudded up hill that I wanted.

Saying all that...I'm "LIMITED"
4 right now.

All that driving I have done in the last six months has strained out the REAR uca bushings. So I have, what seems to me, a lot of travel and settle, and pinion angle travel on acceleration.


Just running street tires...sorry for not mentioning that.
When I did springs and shocks, I jus did cheap basic stuff to get thru the winter,
It was a rush job, but also did a set of lower control arms cause the 20 yr old bushings were toast
And the cheap, uca for the front are done, ball joints are toast, bushings are great, but replacing those with the JBA uca, when time allows.
And lower ball joints were cheap and for good measure gonna replace those with a good set when I do the uppers.

All that being said...the shocks and springs are amazing, and I could drive this beast, loaded down with a crap ton of mail and packages,
Drove it like I stole it.
Can't so much right now, but when I get this next round completed, I already know it's gonna ride AWESOME!
