Ironman gaser lift full details

I found a ton of useful information in various topics on this site. However, some questions are still looking for their answers.

1.What height does ironman lift sit at with just shocks and springs installed, i.e. no spacers, insulators, etc.?

I see somewhat contradicting accounts on this. Here http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f203/actual-lift-amount-lets-compare-fender-heights-39094/index23.html#post618224 20' front and 22'' rear is claimed. On the other hand here http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f203/actual-lift-amount-lets-compare-fender-heights-39094/index15.html#post581836 a 22'' rear has been obtained using isos and a 15mm trim pack on the front struts resulted in 1'' extra lift as compared to the 20'' in the previous post. Also we have this guy http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f203/actual-lift-amount-lets-compare-fender-heights-39094/index19.html#post600982 who has added 1/4" top plate and 3/8" clevis and taht resulted in 3'' extra lift as compared to the 20'' with just struts and springs.

So how does the arithmetic work on this one? Spacers, trim packs and clevis result in amount of lift different than their own height?

2. Do I need extended front/rear bump stops with this lift? I've read that OME shocks have internal bump stops and eliminate the need for upgrading the external ones. Does that hold true for Ironman ones?

3. I see that when the lift initially came on the market the rear shocks were stock length and later on Ironman came with extended length ones. Are these the longer ones - Jeep Cherokee Liberty KJ 2001+ Rear Shock Absorber - Nitro Gas - Ironman 4x4 ? In some topics stock length ones are mentioned as still available on the market. The link above though seems to be the only Ironman KJ shock available. So I am kinda confused.

4. Which one is the Ironman HD spring? I assume it's FRONT PERFORMANCE COIL SPRINGS one since it's only available for the diesel. However both that and FRONT CONSTANT LOAD COIL SPRINGS are rated +50kg by Ironman.

5. Will I get more lift if I use the HD springs? Will the ride be much harsher provided that I keep the stock bumper?

6. That one is not Ironman specific. What amount of lift should I be aiming at to be able to fit 245/75R16 tires without rubbing and to minimize/eliminate UBJ spring contact? Can I even eliminate the contact or would any amount of lift result in the UBJ slamming in the spring?

Thanks guys.

1. Usally around 2.25" lift I have seen personally. Just to throw a curve ball, my wifes Ironman is at 4.25". But were not at that stage for you yet......

2. Yes ALL lifts for the KJ i recommend bumpstops, teraflex in the front. Hockey pucks in the rear.

3. JBA now sends the longer shocks for the rear, but call to verify

4. The "B" is your gasser spring. "C" is your CRD spring.

5. Yes using the "C" load you might get a hair more, depending on the front end weight.

6. 245/75. Id say 2.25" will be good. Pound the pinch weld and you will be ok.

Thanks a bunch.

1. Well, Ironman claim 40mm lift and the sites that sell their lift kits claim 1.5''. It's gonna be really nice if it gets as far as 2'', though.

3. I noticed that JBA sells 12712LGR as opposed to 12712GR. I guess the L stands for long.

4. That's weird. On Ironmans's site the B is available only in the diesel kit. C is also there. The gasoline kit includes only C.

You first have to understand that both OME and Ironman are made in Australia or at least the companies are located there. Due to insurance regulations lifts can only be 1.5 inches, so they are advertised that way.
JBA sells what works best with KJs that are lifted so yes they sell the longer shocks
