Well I went under my car and the axle didn't have any stickers on it so I'm going to assume I have one wheel..... that *****.

I'm still tempted to jack up the back end and start it up to see what spins. But that jsut sound like a BAD idea all around.

Hmm, thats weird a 2005 doesnt have the sticker? It should be all the way to the right.

If you jack the back of the jeep up and start it, both wheels will spin no matter if you have an open diff, LS, or a locker. The best thing to do is jack up the back of the jeep and spin one wheel by hand and see what the other wheel does. If it spins in the other direction that you are spinning, then its and open diff. If you cant spin the wheel then you should have an LS, or you left the e-brake on, hehe.

well I think I have the limited slip cause I was in a friends drive way that had all gravel. I peeled out a bit and first felt power from the right, then I felt the car kind of even out. I got out and see one big skid mark from the right and then another one from the left. the left wasn't as long but it was just as deep as the right telling me that power was going to the left wheel. I also compared these to my front tire marks and they hardly had moved any rocks at all. So I am confident that if I get stuck I'll at leaste get stuck with two wheels.

thanks for the help guys I do plan on gettting a locker though

Look on your build sheet/window sticker. If it has a limited slip it will say something like Limited Slip/Trac-Lock. If you don't have the build sheet/window sticker you can e-mail Jeep (from jeep.com) with your VIN and they will e-mail you back the build sheet. Or you could just e-mail them your VIN and ask them if it has a limited slip.

I recently emailed jeep for my build sheet, they no longer email build sheets, they can only US mail them. It only took a week however.
