It started as random little things that I passed off as a fluke but today my 08 made me drive an hour in the rain and fog with the dashboard lights coming on and off, dome lights turning on and fading, beeping, dinging, you name it. I was ready to walk home.

About 6 months ago as I was driving the seat belt light came on briefly a couple of times. Taking my seat belt off and on didn't help. Next time I drove it, nothing happened. Didn't do it again for at least a month. This has continued randomly.

Three times now it has stalled out on me, each time I was going about 15mph through a right turn. Took it to my mechanic after the second one, who found nothing wrong and said to call it a glitch. I thought my key chain might have been getting stuck in the steering wheel (long shot but worth a try?) and took it off. Hasn't stalled since, but like I said, it's possessed. Probably biding its time.

Today on my way home the seat belt light kept coming on, then it kept saying there was a door open. Every 30 seconds it dinged or turned on the dome lights. No other issues, running fine. Just got a text from the neighbors saying my interior lights were on. I had to turn them off with the dimmer switch to get them to go off and stay off.

Someone please tell me what its problem is before I call ghostbusters. Or it starts driving its self. I know next to nothing about electrical problems-my thought was a sensor array?

I have seen others with mysterious problems such as you are having fix them with a new battery. The Liberty is picky about that, it seems.

If the battery checks out, along with the cables and engine/frame ground connections; check for corrosion and loose ones, then the issue might be with your BCM (body control module).

Seen couple of discussions bit similar due to wiring and shorted ground, check them too after the battery.
