Jeep KJ, RB1 Ipod issue

I have a 2006 Liberty with a RB1 Nav radio with Sirius and an Ipod adapter. I had to install the ipod adapter myself because the Jeep dealers said they couldn't do it themselves if I kept Sirius. (That is not true if you need info PM me)

My question is does anyone with RB1 and ipod adapters have issues with the newer ipod touches Freezing up or Crashing there Ipod / RB1 radio?

I have had instances where I connect an ipod touch and it will be recognized then slow down and come to a stop. When I goto regular radio its fine but wont go back to the ipod auxiliary unless I unplug the battery to the Jeep for a min or 2 and reconnect. My Ipod Classic works fine! its just the Ipod Touch.

Has anyone else had this issue??

Its a second generation I-Touch. My Ipod Classic works fine and thats 60 gig classic right before the touch came out. When I hook up the touch it seems like everything in the menu on the RB-1 Slows down then eventually the AUX will become unavailable for use. The only way to get the AUX / Ipod to become available again is to unplug the battery in the Jeep for a couple of minutes. I have just been using my classic but am concerned in a couple of years when that decides to die I will have no more Ipod option if the adapter will not work with newer pod's. I was hoping somebody may know if there is a way to update the Ipod adapter or RB-1.

I've run into this same issue with my iPhone 3G running the iPhone OS 3.1.2. It's the iPhone OS. It's too bulky to be used with the Mopar kit. You're best off using the AUX input (headphone) jack instead of the dock.

They used to have less issues with the iPhone OS 2.x but there's no way to downgrade or put on the older version on them.

On the other hand, Classic iPods work just fine.

Does the mopar iPod integration kit work on the RB1 head unit AND the stock 6 disc changer in the rear? Does the artist name and song title display on the screen? I am really interested in This mod but it is not worth the $ if I lose the ability to use the 6 disc changer in the rear or if I don't see what songs I am selecting on the iPod from the RB1 screen. Lastly, can I use the aux input on the iPod adapter to hear the rear DVD player sound? That is another mob I want to do.

I still can use my 6 disc stock changer and the song artist and title is displayed on the RB-1. On top of all this the Ipod kit has a standard 1/4" input for anything else I want to connect... Any non-apple 30-pin connector that is.

wath mopar kit did you install does it run off the OEM AUX or FM and what is the part number

I installed the Mopar IPod Integration kit Part Number:
82209616AC it connects into the back of the stock radio. Then the stock CD player connects into the back of the iPod unit. You scroll through your devices using the CD/Aux button on the RB1 radio. It works excellent.
