Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Found a company online that has a good replacement for 200 bucks, going to order it, and somehow get my car back from the shop and replace it myself. not paying them $1000 bucks to replace my steering column
Make sure you have all the correct tools to replace it,there are some specail tools required.Read up on disarming the airbag system correctly also.

was able to just stick a screwdriver into the ignition switch, and turn the car on :) it will work for now till i get the replacement column, then i'll just swap it out.

now im debating if i should try and fix it(bondo+duct tape?), rig up a custom ignition solution( mount the ignition switch backwards and create a "key" for it out of wood or something), or just replace the steering column....

I hate to interrupt this lovely conversation you're having with yourself... lol

I unfortunately have no input, just cracking up that every time I refresh the new posts there's another random thought.

Note: you don't have to remove the steering wheel, to replace the steering column. Also, there is a bolt at the linkage that you prolly shouldn't forget about. Libby is fixed! woot! Thanks for all the help guys!

im currently having the same problem. throughout my manual it mentions the how the mobil speed pass could interfere with the sentry key system. the RF that sends signal could become out of whack or something. MY dealership is having a hayday right now. its costing too much, does anyone know what im talking about? thanks
