So I just purchased my KJ this past weekend. It came with the original FOB. It didn't work thought it was the batteries, so I replaced them. When I snapped it back together my parking lights flashed and the could hear the locks move then nothing, no response from any button presses.

I thought maybe the buttons were worn out since they were in pretty bad shape so I ordered a new FOB kit that comes with the case halves, metal battery contact and silicon button piece. I transferred my electronics to the new kit and get the same thing. When I put the halves together my parking lights flash and the could hear the locks move then nothing, no response from any button presses.

Any advice?

I take it you don't have a spare key? :blah:

This is a completely wild guess, but it will be quick and easy to try: Disconnect the battery for fifteen minutes. This might reset the PCM/BCM/WhateverCM.

Sounds like a problem with the mechanism of your fob...as you close it you get the action as if you pressed the button but then nothing further works...maybe once you close the plastic pieces together it presses the button IN but does not release it again.

Try operating the switch with the top cover off and see it works!

You may have to have the BCM programmed at a Dealer for the various functions such as locking doors, flashing the turn lights etc.

The early KJs have the remote receiver plugged onto the BCM like a pack of cigarretes...newer KJs have this module intergrated into the BCM.

The BCM sits on the rear of the internal fuse panel, you may want to disconnect the battery, remove this internal fuse panel, re-plug the receiver module onto the BCM and re-plug all the BCM connectors. Put it all back together and see what happens:shrug:
