I was checking out the LOST JEEP SAFARI - MOAB, UT which is scheduled for 3/29 - 4/5. It sounds like it should be a real adventure. It's scheduled for AFTER the huge (10,000 plus Jeeps) Red Rock Four Wheelers Annual Easter Jeep Safari, so the crowds will be gone.
Beth and I have been up there several times. There's no better place to wheel. We're thinking about joining in on the LOST trip. Is anyone else from the AZ Chapter of Jeep KJ Country interested in heading up there with us???
Moab, UT is the 4 Wheeling Capitol of the country... the trails go from mild to wild, there's something for everyone and nowhere else better to play in the dirt and on miles of slickrock. The Charles A. Wells "Guide To Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails" lists 14 easy and 17 medium rated trails, all doable in a stock KJ with good tires, skids and carefull driving, Check out a partial list of the trails with some pics here.
If anyone is interested, now's the time to sign up over on LOST, arrange time off from work and make camping or lodging reservations. For those interested in camping, keep in mind it can still be cold and rainy in Moab that time of year. As usual, Beth and I will be camping out in a motel in town.
If anyone wants to plan a different trip up there for later on in the year, toss out some dates and we'll get something going on a smaller scale than the LOST trip. I'd recommend a five day trip. One day drive up to Moab, three days on the trails and one day to drive home, or at the very least, a four day trip. From central Phoenix, it's roughly 470 miles and an 8-9 hour drive to Moab, depending on how many stops we make along the way.
So, anyone interested????

Note: We're also planning on our Rocky Mountain High Altitude Expedition - 2008 to Silverton/Ouray, CO for early to mid July if anyone's interested....
