Hi,

I recently added custom made HID projector (retrofit) headlights and some 3.5” projector LED fog lamps to my 2006 KJ.

I now want to swap out my remaining, old halogen bulbs for LED and was looking around to see if anyone had completed this full LED conversion.

Here’s what I have in my Amazon Cart:

***All are Philips ULTINON series***

Brake Lights - 3157 RED

Third Brake Light - 921 WHITE (inside Red Housing)

Reverse/Backup Light - 3157 WHITE

Now the missing link… what to do about the front and rear blinkers which I’ve read are “switchback”? Not sure which bulb would work.

Also, will I need resistors on any of the circuits?

Tips welcome… thanks!

I recommend doing the following mod if you're going with LED turn signals, and you have a soldering iron (a cheap one from Walmart is 6 bucks):

It's not too hard, and will save you the hassle and money of installing resistors at each light. I have an ARB front bumper with LED's and did this mod. Then later, when I went LED bulbs for the rear I just swapped them right in for the incandescent and has no issues or hyper flashing.

I picked up a set of Hikari LEDs, yet did not have time to install them. These holidays I have a couple of days off, so I plan to install them. Though, folks here are saying that LEDs do not focus properly in our headlight assemblies. Well, we'll see, anyways my LEDs are already here, si I will give them a try.

No they do not, has been tried 100s of times by people thinking just because they sell them they will work great.
WRONG , just read up
The reflectors in our headlights are not designed to throw the light of a LED bulb, and all it does is scatter light blinding all oncoming traffic
It may look bright, you may think it works , but if I see you coming at me blinding me, you get the Vision X light cannons back at ya

Hey Man! I've completely converted my 02 KJ Limited to Led. Every single light in this vehicle is Led, with the addition of Fully custom led tailights, led back up pods, Led Dashboard lights, switchbacks, and oem factory roof lights led conversion. I'd love to see your build! Have any questions I'd love to answer them!

I'm done with my front end and interior LED conversion (for now). I did custom Projectors with C4 and some eBay LED projector for with LED rings in amber. I'll get a picture up soon enough.

What did you do for your backend brake and turn signal lights? I've seen LED backup bulbs and 3rd brake LED bulbs that work properly, but I'm still considering a custom all LED tailight and 3rd brake...

Post a pic of your tail end!

Where did you get the LED dash lights?! I might need this soon, as some are quite dim.

I bought a set of aftermarket Anzos then took them apart. Dremeled out some holes for some trailer lighting. My inspiration was Morimoto and the infinity look, like some of their tailights have. Then I added two leds backup pods in the bumper. Five red extra tagging markers. For the third Brakelight I went aftermarket as well. I bought a "Lumen" Led third brakelight. It has a clear housing, then it's matte black on the inside. Then I just plasti dipped over it, for it to match the paint. It's completely camouflaged and still works great. Then a led 192 bulb for the tag light. The signals for the front I used "Lasfit" Their bulbs are quite pricy at $50 for one set. But they're absolutely worth it. They have built in canbus resistors, and never hyperflash. It's plug in and play. They're also bright as all get out.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing. Yes those LASfit LEDs are totally worth the money.

What about your 3rd brake light? Did you stick a LED in the original housing?

Whatever looks best I guess! Pure White?
Well here's the problem, I tried white in both of mine 02 Limited, and 07 Sport. They all, well atleast the first gens do. They have a film or a resistor of some sort that makes the white look like a sky blue. So you'll never get pure white. I've tried removing it, but it seems impossible. So I did an all blue led theme in my interior.
