Hey guys my jeep was running fine the other day after changing the battery out , started and stopped just fine. Then when to start her up today and now she wont crank over, tried swapping the battery/boosting it but no luck, the fuses seem fine. And the Alternator seems good as well, so anyone know what i can try ? The starter is the obvious culprit but would like to know if there is any other things it could be, Thanks in advance !

Strange that you would install a new battery then...
What is your new swapped in battery voltage reading now?
How does the wiring at stater/solenoid look, tight wiring/cable connections?
Sounds like a new starter is in order.

Im unsure about the volts as i don't have a multi-meter, but it was bought brand new and a day later it wouldn't even crank. It just started raining and haven't had a chance to crawl under her to take a look, i have a feeling it might just be the solenoid as i hear a single click when i try and crank her over.

Turn on headlights, assuming they come on nice and bright, try starting. Should dim lights, if not starter not getting juice. Could be a number of things, solenoid, connections, fuse, ignition switch, etc. If you can get at the starter try tapping it with a hammer. Also try crossing between the battery cable and solenoid wire on starter with an old screwdriver.

I'd check the new battery first. That's the easy part. I bought a brand new Die Hard about 6 years ago for a vehicle (not the KJ) and two days later the same thing happened to me. Defective but stuck so wound up getting a repair shop Parts Master. Still running the Parts Master with no problems in that vehicle.

I'll have to try these tips tomorrow thanks for sharing them, i doubt its the battery though, as i picked up a second one at the same time for a dual battery set up, and tried changing the battery, to no improvement.

Yeah pretty unlikely they'd both be bad. That would be really bad luck. Leaning toward the starter now. Keep us posted.

starter is a fun job have to either remove the header or take out the front drive shaft fun times.

Check that the battery connections are clean and tight, the negative lead going to chassis is clean and tight and there is a grounding strap grounding the engine to the chassis...make sure both ends are clean and tight.

Also swap over the Starter Relay in the fuse box under the hood with an identical one nearby....contacts on the relay could be getting dirty!

Definitely check the connections and cables before replacing the starter.

If Jeeps have that starter relay in the fusebox, like other Mopars, it is a good candidate. I've had them fail before. As stated, swap it with a good one from nearby in the fusebox.
