Liberty Wheel Hub Replacement

I'm new to this forum but have used it as great resource in the past to fix things!

I decided during this pandemic it's a good time to try and replace my wheel hubs, caliber, rotor and pads as it was all overdue. I'm not a mechanic but I have done bearings on trailers and a brake change some years ago.

Please see the photos attached. My issue is that the hub seems to be stuck on the CV shaft spindle and I'm cautious on the best way to proceed. Would a puller on the spindle be able to push the spindle off the hub? It looks like it would need to open to 6 inches for for the jaws to fit on the hub.

On the video I watched on how to do it, he just pushes the spindle and the hub separate from here by hand but I'm guessing this is locked on with dirt and rust from all the years in Canada.

I didn't want to hammer anything at this stage as I imagine that could cause issues with the axel.

The liquid you see here is just WD40. Any advice really appreciated on the best way to proceed from here.

get a loaner puller tool from your local auto part store.
Do they have that in Canada?

Run nut back on till its just on the end of the threads
brass hammer or rubber mallet and wail away
Never had one that did not come off that way

Thanks for your advice - appreciate it! To be sure I understand you correctly, with this method, would I re-attach the hub part back in place with the 3 torx screws and then hammer that nut (end thread) inwards to separate them from each other?

I did not want to damage anything hence I stopped at where you see in the photos and have not tried any hammering at this point in case that was bad.

Thanks everyone!Success! Lots of WD40 for the last few days and a punch/hammer combo and it came free!

Does anyone have advice on buying wheel bearings? Assume stick away from those real cheap ones as they will fail quickly especially in a harsh Canadian climate? At the same time I don't need expensive bearings that will last as long as these original ones have (17 years!) as they'll outlast the vehicle.

I use oem if my budget allows, otherwise I use Moog.

I used SKF on mine. Like $100 each if that on rockauto. The other ones can fail in months.

Timkens for me. $45 each at Rockauto last time I ordered.

I tried the budget brands, but they didn't last well with bigger tires and more wheel offset.
