Does anyone know the typical lifespan of the catalytic converters on our jeeps? I have an 04 renegade. I'm pretty new to jeeps and I'm used to GM cats going out as soon as you take it off the showroom floor

Unless you let it sit for weeks on end being salt covered there is no issue with corrosion. The cat's operate at 600+ degrees and will burn off anything that causes corossion, now the heat sheilds are a different story.Any vehicle build after '02 will give the P0420 and/or P0430 codes when the cat's are toast.I live in Michigan so very salty in the winter. I am the 3rd or 4th owner of the Jeep and I got it with 88k miles on it. I don't know how well they kept up with maintenance but I take really good care of it. The problem is right now it feels like its getting plugged up but I'm not getting any OBD codes. I am currently at 98k miles.
