this is how I roll ,well how my wife does anyway
I like digging up these old pic's

there is a small ledge down in there ,fall off and you are on your side
note the Jeep in the back ground ,that is where the passenger tires are

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Detriot Truetrac.
I've heard good things about them...
Atleast I hope so!
Is the front just a Dana 30 27 spline? I may go with a front later since they are under the $400 mark.
Leave the DTT for the front axle, get a real locker for the rear like the regular Detroit locker or ARB.

And yes the front is a d30 27 spline

Alright thank you.
I figured a front LSD would be better idea.
Never having any locker or LSD before how will the KJ perform differently with just the front DTT and open rear until I can afford a rear locker?
I hear invisible on the road, but in snow and mud?

oh I dont know
you said that I dont wheel my KJ?
and to show my impression of a mild trail
or did you miss the fact that the angle is so steep that the front bumper was dragging in the mud?
or the muddy water line ON THE HOOD

haha thats nothing. your talking to a guy who carried spare bumper clips.
your bumper dragged in the mud. thats cute. i knocked mine off several times.
i KILLED my liberty off road. yours still works. point goes to: guy who beat the hell out of his jeep doing what he enjoys.

that trail is mild. for a subaru outback

You will love it in snow/mud when your in 4wd with a DTT up front(even if open in the rear) as the front will pull you better then your rear pushes.I loved mine when I was still IFS in the winter(don't play in mud,bad for seals) as it would be like driving on rails, just point and shoot with the steering wheel.Yes it will be nearly invisable while in 2wd.The only thing you would notice at 1st is the steering will return to center faster but after awhile you will not even notice it.

You killed your KJ by stupidity(no skids and crushed your Y-pipe),all of us around long enough know that and sure someone will dig up the old posts.I believe you toasted your clutch(or close to it) also if I remember right, yeah your a expert driver with only 2 years of offroad experianceloser.gif.

Dont confuse wheeling on the edge with destructive
that is why the bigger white TJ is on the by pass
I take it to the limit
some times stuff happens
understand this before she fell off we both made it several times in the past
but keep walking that line and your time will come

you will never know the limit if you dont push it

great
crushin the Y pipe even better

got skids? she did
or she may have crushed more than the y-pipe
note the rear wheel is nearly off the ground

Alright cool thanks guys!
I was afraid that having ESP would screw things up.
I will need to find a good shop to install it, but since my sister drives my KJ during bad snow storms and parks in a parking garage the lift can't be done til spring or else she won't fit..
So a front DTT will be installed instead!

that wasnt what was wrong with it.
i taught my self to drive stick. my dad was a DR making 300k a year. he had no interest to ever work on his own stuff or go off road. i am the first one in my family to to this stuff. noone ever mentioned anything about not shifting while in deep water and mud. that shit sat in my transmission for almost 2 years. the transfer case had an issue that even the dealership couldnt figure out. it needed pads and rotors, new clutch, new trans, new ******, new tires, and rear gears.
why not get a new jeep that cost less per month and reduces your insurance?
