Nope no locking hubs,no electric hubs, and no vacumn hubs. The front CV's are directly splined to the hubs/wheels.

From looking at it there is no aftermarket parts to change this.Kinda nice though, nothing else to break or go wrong, and you don't have to get out and lock in those hubs. But it also means that your front diff gears are spinning at all times, even in 2wd,just no power going to the front diff.

I would rather it all spin. Its not like the CV's go bad every 50k so Im not worried about it.

Im sure it would free up a couple MPG though.

You going with locking hubs on the SFA tjkj?

I sure am,kinda have to with my HP44 and real u-joints,could do a full time locked drive flanges but I'd like my u-joints to last a year at least since it still will be my DD.

I'm actually wondering just how much MPG it would free up if these KJ's had the aforementioned hubs?

As far as getting out of the "Truck' that's stuck in grade 9 white water...:D
I don't miss that episode either!

I always wondered about that but I always locked them up in the morning and left them locked all day if I was going to use 4wd. I don't recall now if there was much difference in mpg. I don't remember there being a big difference anyway.

Socks, you are a braver man than me, as I would have been all locked up and in 4wd before I hit that trail/water. I am surprised you can stay on your feet in that whitewater. I was trout fishing with hip waders on and got into the current too much a couple of times and had all I could do to keep my balance. That must have been a "Kodack Moment".....haha

My best friend (Although he is an idiot!) said he had locked the hubs... He was driving as well yet couldn't tell.
Anyway, I climbed out the passenger side window and onto the hood where I stretched out my arm (which incidently went numb almost instantly due to the cold water) and fumbled with the hub on both sided of the truck to lock them suckers.

My other Jeep is a Rubicon... I put the Warn Hub Kit on the front of it and notice maybe a half mpg difference. I consider it un-noticeable. However, the Liberty would probably do a little better, maybe 1mpg, it not having 35's and all.
