I am going to replace my LBJ's in my 07. If I buy a ball joint removal tool will the 10 piece kit work?
I don't need professional grade/cost tool.

That's what I used, years ago. "Rented" it from Autozone and never returned it. Has come in handy for several projects.

I just rented one from oreillys, you need the main tool and the "4wd balljoint kit" that includes longer cups wider hubs/caps.

The total deposit for the rental was $225, and I dont replace enough balljoints to justify dropping that kind of coin on a VERY used and abused tool.

Actually, you don't need a kit. Take a 5lbs sledge and hammer on the tip of the bolt directly down. It'll slowly come out. Getting back in is much easier with a press. But definitely make sure you get the 4wd attachments from AZ, otherwise the presses won't fit. Even still, it's a fight.

The one I ordered has the 4wd attachments.

I am interested to see how the astro tool kit works out. $225 was too steep, but $70 might be easy enough to swallow the next time I need it.
Based on what everyone is saying about moog, that may be sooner than I had hoped (I just put in moog problem solvers).

The astro press gets really good reviews on you tube. I know I could have rented one but I needed an excuse to buy a new tool. Last time I rented one it was filthy, had some cracked receiver tubes and had been very abused.

UPS delivered my astro ball joint press. I am very happy with the quality of it. Hope it works.

I like mine. I bent the frame slightly on my OEM doing the lowers on my Ranger. The Astro seems a little more robust.
