hello all,
Not new to the Liberty at all but new to this site. I previously owned a 2007 Jeep Liberty Sport w/ Appearance Package. Sadly, it kept having ****** issues so i got rid of it while i still had the chance to not pay for a new transmission as it was covered under the then short powertrain warranty. I recently recieved orders to Alaska and just dont feel my current 2008 Ford Focus is gunna cut it up there. I really loved my KJ so ive decided to try out a KK. I dont have it yet, but im planning on making the purchase upon return from my deployment. Probably going to look for a 1 year old Limited trim, fully loaded and mod it up. Heres pics of my former KJ

Where in AK? Fairbanks or Anchorage if USAF or USA. USCG all over the place, and even some Navy and Marines in various places.
And about when?
Your Focus will be fine if you stay on the plowed roads and consider studded tires on all 4 wheels in the winter. There are flocks of them up here, but no open season.
Air conditioning is nice in the summer, though this has not been a warm one thus far.
Thanks for your service!

i cant remember the specifig lingo, but the ****** issues were repeated malfunctioning solenoid packs and some sort of internal clutch pack. both would burn out after about 6,000 miles and need replacement. why? i have no clue and neither did chrysler. id have to go find my paperwork to give specific components replaced before they actually put a new ****** in it.

im going to Eielson AFB. im sure the focus will do fine in AK but id prefer something sturdier. its just a preference thing. it did fine in colorado blizzards and snow days but even then i wanted my KJ back.
