Max tire size on 3" lift

Looking to get some wheel adapters so that I can use some 5x5 18" rims from a newer wrangler.
Would 255/70/18 tires on these jeep wrangler rims work on my liberty with the 3" lift. They'll space the rims out about 1"

My tires were all shot when I bought mine last year, I had wheel adapters from my tj and got some 16" stockers with great tires from the 07+ wranglers for next to nothing just to get back to work. For me I don't like having to worry about the 20 extra lugs coming loose, the loctite cleaning when I have to take it apart, etc. I have some moabs waiting to go on mine, hopefully sooner than later.

That all being said, ran mine on my tj for a couple years towing, and over a year towing on the kj here. Make sure to buy quality hub centric spacers if you're going to go that route, rims coming off at speed are not only dangerous for you but for others.

You'll want to stay 32" or under on whatever you pick up (still may have to limit extra travel at 32") and be at 5" backspacing.

Just a quick note that the Jeep is driveable with 31’s but with power and mpg loss. 32’s without regearing to 4.10 will make your Jeep a dog. Also 32’s on a 3 inch lift will require you bend the pinch weld over and may still rub.

No too big for a 3 inch lift
No that is a 32 inch tall tire
yes you would need to regear if they would work but even 4.10s is not low enough for 32s really
Buy the right wheels and stick with 245-75-16s or similar height

You can run a 255.. I run 255/75/17 ..18s might be pushing it tho, some power loss but it's a jeep not a vette mpg will drop also

When I went to 32s for two weeks before the 4.10s I dropped 5 MPG and it shifted constantly, had to run with over drive off all the time and that was living in Northwest Ohio and its flat
To me that is not some power loss

Ok that's your experience my experience is that the power loss is negligible I dont force the engine and the trans shifts fine I live where theres mountains...you gotta get over yourself dude, theres thousands of these jeeps on the road ,I know you like to think of yourself as the only authority on the liberty, but get over yourself.. the jeep losses power but it's not the end of the world, our opinions dont match up ..move the h3ll on

LOL comedians out on the road daily between gigs and here you are sitting behind a computer doing the same thing
Just for a bit of insight, many have expressed the same things about larger tires and lifts etc
I am not an authority by any means but have more experience on many Jeeps and 4X4s than many do
so carry on
