MBRP Performance exhaust

Just installed K&N filter Panel ,Jet stage 2 module and a great sounding great price MBRP exhaust throaty v8 sound out of or 3.7 it really made a tremendous dif in performance. used k&N panel 15.00 ,used jet stage 2 chip 60.00 and MBRP performance exhaust 243.00 delivered. I cant tell you how happy I am with performance and sound.I was unable to find a 180 degree thermostat as jet recommends but no issues with the stock one

Hey man, I've got the same stuff, except the Stage 1 module and I'm glad that you've been able to corroberate what the seat of my pants tells me. Quite a bit more power isn't there? Now, don't be dissapointed that your mileage figures don't go up, it's probably because you'll always have your foot in it!!! And that exhuast note, sounds wicked cool eh?

I m really happy,i have the 235 65 17 tire wheel set up and i cant lift any higher im into alot of parking garages.I would luv to lift it.i put the the rb4 nav with sirius I would like to instal the uconnect hands free but cant seem to find parts used and resonable..The gas mileage is down but worth every penny.Im running mid grade instead of premium as jet recommends Its hard to believe it could be any better.Thanks for the comments

That new exhaust system you have there sounds really good!

When our KJ is due for an exhaust system replacement, I will be
seriously considering something like that as well.
Or just go all out and get a true dual exhaust system!

I for one would really like to know more about the Jet chips and if they actually have any affect on performance or if it is just a gimmick?

Jet Performance is no gimmick

Autoboy454, maybe it's the whole package, maybe it's just the chip. The seat of my pants tells me that there is more power available throughout the rev range than there was before. Passing is a no brainer, getting to 65+mph is fun, throttle response is crisp. More torque as well. Lots fewer down shifts when hill climbing and better acceleration. Can't say much in terms of MPG, I'll have to make a highway trip and compare my miles per fill-up. I also haven't tested (like I'm an engineer or something...my g-meter is in my Levi's) the performance parts I've added individually. They all went on at the same time. But, that said, before the intake/chip/exhuast and after the intake/chip/exhuast is a night day thing.

Jet Performance is a reputable company, member of SEMA and all, they've been doing this for a while. The parts they sell aren't some chip (read "resistor") from an E-Bay vendor. Personally, I went with the Stage 1 part. The vendor through which I purchased it advised me that without a port-polish, cam, blah blah blah that the Stage 2 module wouldn't provide me anymore benefit than the Stage 1 module.

I put the air intake on first it made a difference the exhaust second made a tremendous difference and the chip stage 2 again a tremendous difference. It the transmission shifts firmer and shifts at higher rpm.Not an engineer but it seemed to me the chip made as much dif as the cat back.

I would have went tru dual but we have emmissions test and the cat back systems with duals are twice the money as single.I agree if I could get it inspected that would have factored in to the decision but I try to get the most bang for the buck I spent less than 350.00 and got the effect i wanted .Lucked out ton the on the used chip.And great price on mbrp exhaust.You guys in Canada should be able to get MBRP even at a better price I think I read it was produced in Canada

Have had good results with K&N filter panel in my Porsche 911. Want to put it in the KJ also and want a better sound so MBRP exhaust will be an option. Do not want to play around with other chips or things like that. Don't need extra HP's because the KJ is totmbo's daily driver - but would like to hear when she's approaching our house...

Would only K&N and MBRP exhaust do the thrick for a better sound and not be argueing with the neighbours all the time because of the noise?

OK, maybe "throaty V-8 sound" is a bit much but it does sound good. It won't wake the neighbours either. No more than some of the Powerstroke/Cummins/Allison crowd in my 'hood.

I have a question for those with the aftermarket exhaust systems. After installation, did you find there as a decrease in low end torque and an increase in top end power?

Years ago, I put a system on a '95 1/2 ton Chevy p/u with a 350 engine. The upper RPM horsepower increased dramatically, but while pulling my boat up a hill, it just laid down... it couldn't get out of it's own way.

I replaced the exhaust, regained the low end and gave up the top end.

The only change made was the exhaust, are the new systems designed better?

In my experience, free flowing systems make their horsepower and torque gains at higher than stock RPM's. The graph shows significant increases in both at lower rev's... a much better combination if towing or trying to move a relatively heavy vehicle.

Defintely going to be looking into purchasing this system.

It comes with everything you need to install the system. Two new bolts for the coupler before the muffler and a way nice band clamp for the tailpipe. When doing the install, remove the pass side rear wheel and place a jack between the lower control arm and the body. Force the lower control arm down to unload the suspension and you can get the old tailpipe out without cutting. Stuff the new tailpipe in place and attach it to the hangers before bolting the muffler in. It took me all of about 30 min to remove the old and install the new. I hope you got the stainless system. When it's clean it looks freaking hot!!
