Again closing in on 200k, been noticing a smell from the exhaust and around the car while driving. No big smoking issues but when changing the oil I noticed a puddle under the muffler. Not from the top either. Wiped it and it started manifesting again. Seems one of the spot welds or two is starting to fail and causing a small leak.

Seems a simple job but trying to find a full kit as I don’t weld and The tailpipe itself is long and bendy.

thoughts, options?

I have an MBRP cat back knock off laying out on the shelf in the garagefor the 03
Got it off Speed Daddy on efaly
Looks the same, more than likely made right on the same line, just a cheaper version
Someday I may install it LOL

Also Magnaflo is great on the 04, still using original tail pipe at 232,000 miles

Can pickup a basic muffler with discounts for $50 from AAP. Figure I may just unbolt the flange then cut the pipe on the other side and use muffler clamps. Throw it in call it a day.

Thats a good plan. The factory tail pipe is large enough.

I have the MBRP and it is a great catback kit.

So no tail pipe,??
why not cut right in front of the muffler where it is 2.5 inches, then muffler shop for a short piece from rear of muffler to existing tailpipe
That is what the 04 has on it ( with Magnaflo muffler )

PB blasted the flange last night, WD40 for the hangers, and made sure all the pieces will line up right. Should be a fun little job and my first exhaust replacement to add to my resume lol.
