Finally decided to take some pics of my KJ. I traded in the my Jetta around September of last year and purchased the Liberty with only 14k miles on it for a awesome deal. (Got it from the dealer my wife works for.:) )

I know you guys like dirty pics, so I will post them first. Dirty from a little light off roading I got to do a few weekends ago.

I have these ready to go on. I am going to mount them on the front bumper just inside the factory fog lights...

While I am in here posting pics, does anyone know what recall this says was performed?

Thanks!

I'm not aware of most of the recalls so I wouldn't know. I guess it was replaced though.lol

I really like the front plate...awesome!! Where did you get it from? Do you have pics of the Hella's mounted?
Thanks. I got it from http://www.grtpl8s.com/ a couple of years ago. They can make just about anythng you want within a few restrictions. Great place. Very high quality plates. Just as good as the real ones.

No, not yet. I just got them last Saturday and I haven't had a chance to wire them up yet. I am also still deciding on how to mount them. I will definitely post pics when they are mounted though.

Nice pictures. Since I know you are another avid detailer, what did you use on the paint?

67customs......really nice pic's/KJ. I like your plate too. That is the first one I have seen like that. Nice idea.....I have the same wheels as yours but I changed the tires. Mine is an 05 Limited also and I didn't hear anything about a recall but if it was changed you shouldn't worry about it. Also recalls can affect only vehicles made between certain dates and not necissarily all vehicles. It could have been a TSB also and not an actual recall.

Anyway, nice Jeep.

lol

When I got it, it wasn't in the greatest shape on the outside. They took care of the engine and the interior, but they let it sit a lot outside. The plastic bumpers and fenders were stained, so I used Meguiar's ScratchX. The swirls on most of the body were minimal if any at all. So, I just used Menzerna PO85RD on a LC White pad with the Makita on the whole thing except for the hood. The hood had a considerable amount of swirls, so I got them out with Optimum Compound and a LC foamed wool pad and the Makita and finished with PO85RD, same as above. Then, I sealed it off with Duragloss #601 topped with #105. I added a coat of Duragloss #951 Aqua Wax a day before those pictures.

I love the Duragloss look on the silver. It stays slick and sort of self cleanes itself. The paint seems to stay cleaner longer. I have also found the same to be true with Meguiar's #21 on my wife's Audi. They both last for a long while also. I use them on my own cars most of the time. However, I have a bunch of others that I switch off using on customers cars. Depends on the color, flake/no flake, pearl/no pearl, longevity vs looks. Whatever I need at the time.

I use Druagloss #271 on the black trim and Collinite 476s on the "chrome" trim and wheels. It lasts as long as the above mentioned sealants, but gives a darker, deeper look to the "chrome".

What are you using? I am always looking for something new to try.lol

Thanks! I love watching people figure out what it says.lol

I hate these tires. They wore horribly because of the previous owners so they are extremely loud. I am looking to get new tires, but I think I want to go with different wheels also. Maybe some black ones with chrome center caps to match the rest of the trim. If I can't find some chrome center caps, I am going to paint the chrome trim black to match. I'm not sure yet. I think I will just end up getting tires.

Yeah, I don't know why they changed it. I'm just glad that they changed it. I didn't get much history behind this Jeep other than the owners didn't drive it much and kept the motor serviced. No alignments, balances or many washings though. I do know that.

I brought her back to her glory though.:)

Thanks again.

BTW, what tires are you running now? I have couple of them picked out, but I'm not sure which I want to get yet if I stay with these wheels.

Your collection of "stuff" is vast. Are you related to jeepjeepster???:D

Anyway, I couldn't find any A/T tire in the stock 235/65/17" Limited rim size when I was looking last year. (might be more A/T selection now??) . I looked all over. I was going to change the rims to a 16 as there's all kinds of tire selection in 16. I was concerned about the TPM's. (couldn't use them with steel rims, I thought).. I really wanted BFG A/T's as I have run them before with great results. I ended up getting Hercules Terra Trac's A/T's in the 235/65/17 stock size and put them on the stock Limited rims. They are light years better than the Goodyear HP's but not quite as good as the BFG A/T's. But good offroad and in the snow so far.

I do professional detailing on the side, so I have to maintain a pretty large inventory. Nothing too major though... unless you hear my wife tell it.

I don't think I use enough Meguiar's stuff to be realated to him.lol :D

Yeah, there aren't really any stand out A/T tires for our wheel size. However, I have heard that the Yokahoma Geolanders aren't that bad, so I am thinking about getting them. I'm going to look into the Hercules Terra Trac's A/T's now. I still have a little tread on the HP's though, so I think I will let them run down.

I badly want BFG A/Ts. I have them on my '83 F-150 now and I love them. If I switch wheels sizes, that is the tire I am going with.

Thats an awesome place youve got there! Love the big garage in the basement and the drive through area up top! Got any other pics of the entire house and that building(what is that) I see behind the camper? What do you pull that camper with?

I cant wait to get out of college and get my life moving. I want to get a house in the woods or on a farm so bad!

That exploder yours?

Ive got the same buckets! Did you get them from lowes? Using the two bucket method I suppose? That bleche white works pretty good one tires doesnt it!

And those tires just suck in general. I had the same ones and went with Yoko Geolander A/T-S. They are great tires but seem to be a tick on the soft side.

Thanks man! I actually don't have any good pics of the house. I was kinda waiting to get it totally finished. We still have some items to take care of inside and we have to landscape outside plus paint. It is only primer now. I was hoping to take better pics this spring when it looks better. If I remember (remind me) and I will take some better pictures in couple of months or so.

That building behind the camper is actually our neighbors house. It looks like barn though. I wish it was my barn.

I pull the camper with the Dodge. It has the 5.7 Hemi and it pulls it well enough.

I did live on a farm. We grew tobacco, corn and clover for hay. But when I got older, it was getting harder to make money that way, so I got a degree in Business Management so I could get a good job or start my own detailing business. I still like being in the woods though.

Th Explorer is my Mom and Dad's. She was visiting. The Audi is my wife's.

Yeah, I got them from Lowes. Big, cheap and sturdy.:) I love Bleche Wite. It will choke you badly if you breath it, but man it gets tires clean. Advance Auto has their store version of it. Same stuff, only cheaper. If you have one near anyway. I buy the larger refill bottles from Wal-Mart though. I go through it pretty quickly.

A little softer is fine with me. I just need a good tire.

Yup, Ive noticed Im going through the stuff pretty fast lately too. I tried out some Meguiars super D last time and it did 'ok' but nothing cuts through that old tire shine like it does. I try to buy those refills too. Ive seen the Advanced auto parts version(Im there alot) so Ill pick some of it up.

That a dodge ram?

I just got back from driving out in the country. Our area has alot of old farm land and I like driving around looking for land and such. Dying to get out of college..

Yeah, I tried Super Degreaser and it just didn't clean the same.

Yeah, single cab short bed Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie.

On my graduation day, I felt the biggest weight lifted off my shoulders. It was awesome.
