so I decided to paint my old greyish white 2002 Liberty bumpers, but after reading a bit, I decided that paint was not the best option...decided to go with a product called "forever black" it's a dye for your bumpers/fenders etc. and the reviews were favorable so I ordered some and it just came in today.

Here is some pictures as is, right now, I haven't yet applied the product...super anxious to see how it goes ;)

Im interested too, Good thing is if the dye dosnt work out you can always paint it. I dont think painting it is a bad option at all if you add a flex agent to your paint

I am interested to see the dye as well. If it doesn't work out well, use Krylon Fusion paint. Looks and works great, and it's cheap. A lot of the TJ guys use it.

exactly my thoughts, the dye was cheap enough, $25 for two bottles, a cleaner and shipping...we'll see how it goes

Your jeep looks wierd with the fenders and bumpers and grill off. I hope it works out good when you are done. Can't wait for the "after" pic's.

Judging from your pics of the red lib i dont think forever black or krylon fusion would do much for you. Just kidding. This has been bothering me too so i am grateful for your work of posting the pics and info.

Please tell me how to take all the plastics off and please be as descriptive as possible.

When you tell us how you clean and forever the plastics please try to be descriptive as well. I want to make mine as glossy black as possible.

Thank you so much for starting this thread because this has been havy on my mind. My pride and joy just looks bad with the grey white bumpers.

I think it looks badass! from the front at least, like a dune buggy, someone needs to make a minimalist body kit/flares for the Liberty..me and my roommates agree

I know you guys all have jokes, but it's got 180,000 miles on it now, I'm the third owner...and lastly I only paid $4,500 for it around 80,000 miles ago! andiliveonadirtroadinkansasandit'lllookbetteronceicleanitupabit

I think they look kind of creepy with everything off, particularly the grille. I remember that from when I was replacing mine...it reminded me of something from a horror robot movie =P

well, you just drill out all of those plastic rivets..really it's a pain in the ass, like half way through I was thinking, why the **** am I doing this? then every 10 minutes from that point

getting them back on seems easy enough, securing them-not so much

to top it off, I think it looks pretty ******, haha! the original plan was to do up the bumpers to help me sell the liberty to purchase a wrangler, but now I dunno..I might set fire to it and claim insurance  they just look super ghetto, waaaay too black (blarg)

maybe after a few washes, but I dunno

He did, at least one. Maybe he did rest after he took the shots above, look one of them is already off and taped.

Is this still not done yet? Thats a long time to have your liberty sitting in pieces.
