Any pics, or tips on how to mount them to the bumper would be sweet! I as well have a set of hella 500's waiting to be mounted . Way to much stuff to do with to little time

OK, here are the pictures I was looking for, makes more sense than trying to explain it:

I would suggest coming forward another 1/4" from the grille (1 1/4" total). This will allow you to aim them high enough without rubbing on the grille.

This one shows you the opening on the bottom of the bumper where you can access the bolts/nuts to get the mounts tightened down. I would suggest after drilling that you put a small bead of silicone sealant around the holes, then put the bolts, washers and mounts on. The sealant will help keep water away from the bare metal to prevent rust.

The standard 500s have a parabolic reflector, whereas the 'FF's have a 'free-form' reflector, which I believe is a modified parabola. The FFs are supposed to give a better pattern than the standard 500s. I haven't seen them work myself so I can't say whether or not its that much of a difference.

The light covers are plastic. The FF's are designed to project more lighting power and more precise beam placement. The lens is totally clear instead of partly translucent. It appears the reflector is a little bit different.

Mounting on a 2006 is a bit trickier. I had to just drill through the plastic and put some 3/8"x1 1/2" fender washers on both sides.

On a different note I have a green wire that they want hooked up to the high beam 12V+ wire on one end and the switch on the other. Is this wire needed? I don't want my lights shutting off when I hit the high beams.

The green wire to the switch would allow you to control whether or not the lights come on with the high beams, useful if you drive in the city and don't want to blind someone if you have to flash your hi-beams at them. I just ran the green wire directly to terminal 86 on the relay:

That way the Hellas come on whenever the high beams are on. The way I look at it if someone does something to annoy me they deserve to 'see the light'

Ive got mine wired up exactly like the pic above(with the switch). Ive not been able to try them out yet since re-wiring them since idk how to prevent them from being stolen again. Tried some red lock-tite but it didnt cut it.

Ive been thinking about re-wiring them again so that I can turn them on whenever I feel like it but also be able to make them come on with the bright lights.

I have figured out I can run them to any 12V supply. I am going to either the parking lights or something that is ran off of the ignition on circuit.

I had them on the park lights at first. Worked out ok but its easier to get to the bright light stalk than it was to the switch if a car came.

Yes, I like to use them on back country roads.

Nope, not a Renegade. Well not yet, give it a few more months and it might as well be. I should scrounge the local junks for a renny alternator with all this light I have.

ahh, guess if it was it would already have the lights on the bumper. I saw the lights on the roof and didnt think twice about what year it was.

I took them out on the highway last night. It has a good mile long straight stretch and with the lights on I saw every single reflector. They reach out about 500 feet further than my low beams and they almost make my high beams obsolete. This is with aiming them just below the head lights instead of straight ahead as recommended. With my fogs, high beams, Hella's and light bar it's like driving during the day.

Did your plastic bumper compress at all when you tightened down the lights? I'm looking at doing the exact same thing right now and I noticed there's a little space between the plastic and metal underneath.

Nothing to compress!
The plastic bumper skin is at best 4mm thick if that!
Just mount them...!
