Hello all!
I have been told by me dealer to check the tire pressure but I know they are propertly inflated. I noticed when I look at the car from behind, the car leans to the right. I meassured from the top of the tire ( front and rear) to the bottom of the fender on both sides and the right side ( front and rear) are about 1.1/4 to 1.1/2 inches LOWER than the left side. Is it fixable? Why does it bug me? I look at it and it bugs me!!
Thanks forum for your input.

Make sure the jeep is parked on level ground. Do you have anything in the jeep that would cause it to do this?

How many miles and what year is the jeep? Does it have the stock suspension?

jeep leans..

Thanks jeepster for replying. It is a 2006 limitted edition. onlyy 11 thousand miles on it. Just bought it two weeks ago. Ground is leveled, nothing heavy in it. The dealer keeps telling me it is the tires. Somebody else said it could be the springs/shocks wearig out ( it depends how hard off road the previous owner used it). Anyway, I am kidn of stumped on this one. Other than that, it must be a jeep thing. I love this vehicle!
Thanks

I can't beleive that the springs/shocks would be so worn out that you'd notice a lean at 11k miles. Mine has 83k miles on it, I'm sure my suspension is worn (soon to be replaced!) but my KJ has no lean to either side. Maybe a spring, shock or shock mount actually broke? Did you hit any big potholes (or drive over a curb at 50mph) recently? Does anyone else drive your KJ that may have hit one and not told you about it? It has to be something BROKEN, not worn. Otherwise, I'm with the service guy - it's a tire issue.

Good luck and let us know what develops!

Tire and rim size and inflation, and after that check underneith reeeaaal good. Springs/suspension/shocks??? Something under there might be broke. Since it's an 06 with 11,000 miles it's in warranty so take it to the dealer and let them put it on a lift and check out everything underneith.

Strange problem. Sounds like one side is lifted and the other stock????

Let us know how you make out.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Another cause may be since the right side(passenger side) has the exhaust running by the rear coil the heat from the exhaust may have prematurely sgged the spring. It could happen, never seen it happen after 11,000 miles though, but still possible. Also could have been wrecked and then fixed incorrectly.Does the dealer have a bodyshop? If so have them set it up on a frame machine(if they have one) and they can tell you if it is really leaning or not.You can also go to a bodyshop that has a frame machine, but be warned that the setup is going to be costly, depends on the measuring equiptment they have but it is a royal pain to setup and measure(I know,I've done a few to many).

Take it to a different Dealership since it's under warranty, sounds like they're jerking your string.

I dont think there's a kj out there that sit perfectly level at least mine doesn't. Think there was someone else over on lost that had the same problem after i posted how unhappy i was with the height of the rusty's lift. My R/R is 3/4" higher than the L/R. The R/F is 1/2" higher than the L/F. Pretty annoying after I dropped $500 + on the rusty's lift alone.

Mine sits pretty level with a very SLIGHT lean to the driver's side and it has been like that since new. Most vehicles have a slight lean. Are you sure it's not your driveway? Mine makes the lean seem a lot worse. Think of a Liberty as a person. Each and every one has a different personality. Not ONE behaves exactly the same as another one. One might lean, another might be louder, one might have a smoother ride than another... it goes on and on.
