Is this a regular problem, or almost never happens to anyone?
'New' key fob I hardly ever used, original was getting worn out.
I insert the key into ignition, twist, and the two halves pop apart half the time, dropping the guts on the floor.
It's not like I'm a gorilla when I start it, and I've learned to be gentle, but still...
If I drop the fob, it pops open.
If I have it clipped on my belt, and I bump it - you know where this is going....
What do you think - put a new battery in and use silicon caulk to 'glue' it together?
I'm thinking it might possibly make it easier to pop open if/when I have to replace the battery.
otoh, the Yeep is a 2006 with <130K so I might never need a new fob battery.
