This is just open for discussion fun. I bought my new KJ-Limited not even a week ago. What is it about this vehicle that makes it so fun? It's not the fastest, but it is peppy, it is not the biggest SUV but it can turn on a dime. It doesn't haul the most stuff or people but neither do I need to do. I spend less at the gas pump which is great.

Last year, I bought a Nissan Xterra. An OK car but sorta weird shaped and not a lot of fun to drive. 4 weeks ago, took it in for an oil change and spotted a brand new Nissan Titan 4X4 fully modded and tricked out.

I mean this truck was lifted 8" and loaded with all the cool off road stuff including big tires and rims. Well, I drove it off the lot. I was the envy of all of my pals and strangers alike. I really thought I was something for about a week. Then reality sunk in.

$600 a month payment.
Terrible gas mileage.
Hard to park
Hard to put in the garage.
Ladies found it difficult to get up in it.
Had to do 18 turns sometimes to get it backed out of the mall.

BUT, worst of all, IT was not fun to drive. It was a chore to drive. Anything you want to buy for it cost a lot of $$$.

Then, one night I stopped into my local Jeep dealer. Took a Liberty for a drive. Hey! This is peppy, smaller, turns well and cheaper to operate.
The dealer offered 3500.00 incentive to buy it and a great deal on my Titan.

I drove the new KJ off the lot with a big smile. Everytime I go to the garage, I just grin. I found this forum and found out you guys love the little guys too so I joined up.

Now, I have ordered a lightbar, tires, lift kit, exhaust and a front bra. It looks cool stock but I think I am going to have a blast wit all of the cool additions.

Well, if you have read this far, Thank you, and post some replies!!!

Welcome to the life of being a JEEP owner!

I have owned CJ5s, Cherokees, a Comanche and now have 2 Libertys, I have loved them all.

But best thing is just the state of mind of owning a Jeep vehicle, It comes from pride and love of driving for me as well as all of the fun I have had in my other Jeeps. Great offroad ability in a stock package, and great to drive in poor weather, will get you to work, or the store most anytime you need.

Yes, I agree. There is a certain pride or feeling in owning / driving a jeep, big or small. The jeep name has always seemed to command respect.

Welcome, good luck & good fun with your new KJ, the last "_J" vehicle Jeep will produce.

I also have a WJ Overland & I'd MUCH rather drive the KJ. The WJ is great on the hwy, but I live in the city & maneuverability is of paramount importance. IMO, the WJ's recirculating ball steering sux compared to the KJ's R&P.
